Raney WELCOME & ANNOUNCEMENTS Katie Estes CENTERING SILENCE INTROIT Harps of Welcome Shaker hymn Festival Choir We would greet our kindred true, and your life with strength renew; Break ye waves of joy in music, let the harps of welcome ring! Love, rejoicing and thanksgiving, we with happy spirits bring; Many blessings we're possessing, these we freely would impart. May the wealth of deep affection bind more closely heart to heart. Oh receive the love we bring, while the harps of welcome ring! CALL TO WORSHIP (responsive) Be glad and rejoice, for God has done great things. Our mouths are filled with laughter and shouts of joy. A harvest of abundance surrounds us. We will eat in plenty and be satisfied. Praise God for all the bounty we enjoy. Give thanks for every good and perfect gift. We lay aside any worries and fears. God has dealt wondrously with us, and we rejoice. The God of peace greets us in this time of worship. Enter God s courts with thanksgiving, with heartfelt praise. We thank God for steadfast love which sustains us. We praise God for faithfulness to all generations. *HYMN *HYMN Come, Ye Thankful People, Come Hymnal # 367 *PRAYER OF CONFESSION (unison) Tom Watson You know the truth about us, O God, better than we know ourselves. We have gathered the bounty of your earth to fill our bank accounts, struggling to get ahead, blinded by greed. We have not stopped to gaze with wonder at the brilliance of a sunset or recognized the precious gift of a relationship. We have not paused to listen to one another or sacrificed anything to walk with Christ among outcasts and sinners. We turn away from the prompting of the

Holy Spirit, certain that the call is for someone else. Turn us around we pray, that we might receive forgiveness and enter into a time of true thanksgiving. Amen. *ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS (responsive) God hears the confession of our hearts and our lips. God does not put us to shame, but deals wondrously with us, restoring our lives and blessing us with peace. Through Jesus Christ we are forgiven all our sins, and by the Holy Spirit we are empowered for new life. Thanks be to God! *RESPONSE *RESPONSE In the Lord I ll Be Ever Thankful Hymnal # 654 A TIME WITH THE CHILDREN PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION (unison) Bogar Mendiola Gracious God, whose mercy in Jesus Christ is still available to us today, may our lives aspire to the wholeness you offer, daily giving thanks in word and deed for the opportunities you afford us and for the generosity of your abundant grace.
