From The Pastor Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ! I want to thank everyone who attended the Moving Forward with Mission event following worship on February 18 th. We are seeking to be and to make disciples of Jesus Christ so that the world will be transformed. The big question is how do we do that? If we want to reach our goal in five years of having 500 in worship, starting 15 new Bible Study/ small groups and starting 5 new worshiping communities over the next 5 years, we must begin now. We identified eight potential mission field areas that Couts could make a difference in Weatherford. They include CCA, Celebrate Recovery, at risk teens, ESL, special needs children, parenting, Mom s group, and a women s group. At the meeting, folks volunteered to seek out stated needs during the next month. We will then look at our resources to see where and how Couts can meet needs and develop relationships in our community. As we develop these relationships we are to demonstrate the grace and love of Jesus. Our Debt Reduction Commitment total $381,448 Loan Balance As of 1/31/17 - $908,567.67 follow-up meeting will be April 8 th following worship. Even if you did not attend the first meeting, come April 8 th. Jesus went from place to place meeting needs and teaching. We can follow that example and see how God can use all of us to transform the world. We are in the season of Lent. During this time of Lent as you place band-aids on the cross and focus your devotionals on self-examination while preparing to welcome the risen Christ into your heart and life, I am challenging the church to invite 500 people to worship. Sunday we will have a box to put the names of the people you have invited. We will pray for everyone invited as a group. During Holy week, the week before Easter (which falls on April 1 this year), we will have a Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunrise service in addition to our 10:30 am Sunday morning worship. Let us all prepare and welcome the risen Christ into our hearts and lives. Other news includes a change at CCA. Amy Nessler, our current Head of School, is resigning effective the end of this school year. Her main reason is to take care of her son, Wyatt. We all want to thank Amy for the work she has done over the past several years and for the ministry of CCA. We are actively As of 3/1/2018 - $728,969.89 Amount Paid through debt reduction $179,597.78 Page 2 Page 2 looking for her replacement and wish her the best. Do keep CCA and all of the ministries of Couts in your prayers. Sunday we are having the 2 nd Annual Chili cook off. It is a fund raiser for our youth mission trip. So, plan on staying after worship and voting with your dollars for the best desserts and chili. It will be a fun Sunday. Grace and Peace, Pastor Matt I want to thank everyone who attended the Moving Forward with Mission event following worship on February 18 th. We are seeking to be and to make disciples of Jesus Christ so that the world will be transformed. $179,597.78 Matt Hall
