ANNOUNCMENTS AND REMINDERS The next program of the Center for Lifelong Learning at the Phoebe Needles Center is Tuesday, July 12th at 10:00 am. Dr. Bruce Unwin will present Old Age Ain't for Sissies. Please call the Center at 483-1518 to make a reservation by noon Friday, July 8th. Volume 93 Fair Trade products: coffee, May tea, 2016chocolate bars, cocoa and olive oil will be available for purchase after service on Sunday, June 10. Mowers are needed! If you are able to help keep the church lawn mown this summer either by bringing your own mower, or by using the mower at the church, please sign up on the calendar in the Parish Hall, or call Danny Custer at 493-5333. We need volunteers to sign up for Coffee and Refreshments each Sunday. Please check the list in the Parish Hall and add your name if you can help out one Sunday. Saint s Endowment Fund Keeping the Rock Church Solid. The Endowment Fund receives donations every month. These donations are memorials to loved ones, donations from Birthday Sunday, and other donations. The Fund is growing! Our thanks to all who have contributed. Keeping Up with Our Commitment. FAREWELL GATHERING At the end of July, John and Sondra Kirsch will be moving to Twin Lakes Community in Burlington, North Carolina. At St. 's on Sunday, July 17, we will be celebrating the years they have lived in our midst. This will include a recognition of their contributions to St. 's and Phoebe Needles during the worship service and a special social hour following the service. Please plan to attend as we give a warm and fond farewell to our dear friends. PHOEBE NEEDLES SUMMER CAMP There is still plenty of time to register for day camp and residential camp. Check out the Phoebe Needles Center web site for dates, descriptions, and information www.phoebeneedles.org. Parish youth who participate in diocesan sponsored programs, including Phoebe Needles camps and programs, may seek financial assistance by completing the form and submitting it to the Vestry for approval. If approved by the Vestry, Saint s will pay one third of the cost. Once approved, the Treasurer will write the check for the scholarship. Blank forms are available in the Parish Hall. OUTREACH REPORT July 3rd was Outreach Sunday. The collection will benefit The Helping Hands of Franklin County. This organization provides emergency financial assistance to Franklin County's most needy and vulnerable people. They help with electric bills, rent or mortgage issues, heating fuel, gasoline for going to work, motel for homeless, bills for prescription medications, and other emergencies. During the month of June, $640 was sent to Phoebe Needles Camp Fund. Outreach has received several letters from organizations requesting our assistance. If you are interested in learning more, please see the flyers posted on the parish hall bulletin board: The Boy's Home of Virginia needs help covering costs for summer school programs. This organization operates with 97% private funds. $50 provides summer activities for a boy. $100 aids in summer costs for a boy. The Free Clinic of Franklin County is experiencing a cash flow crisis. Please consider making a donation to the Free Clinic today so they can continue to provide primary care and prescription medications to those in our community who depend on their generosity. The Clinic has also requested donations of useful office and clinic items. A Wish List will be posted in the parish hall. Outreach will leave a collection box until the end of July for any donations.
