Welcome to the Office for Diaconate Formation: Following you will find the courses, workshops and tracks that will be open for 2009-2010: Fall, Winter and Spring. This new model of diaconate formation, in accordance with The National Directory for the Formation, Life and Ministry of Permanent Deacons in the United States presented by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, is offering a variety of opportunities for the ordained deacons and wives to continue their formation, growth in their diaconal ministry and get refreshed in the new teachings of the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. We are offering new Courses, Refresher Courses, Workshops (for deacons and for their wives) and full Tracks ; intended to enhance your knowledge of the five dimensions of the diaconate: Intellectual, Pastoral, Spiritual, Human and Diaconal Ministry in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee to better minister to our communities. Tracks are a combination of courses and workshops that can be taken through the four year period of formation. Opportunities are open to all ordained deacons and their wives in this new model of formation. Courses, Workshops and Tracks are offered through the Office for Diaconate Formation in collaboration with the Office of Deacon Services for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee and the Continuing Education Program. This is a great opportunity for all the deacons and their wives in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee to prepare themselves for the challenges, needs, and issues in the modern church. FORMATION WORKSHOP OFFERINGS FOR DEACONS WIVES The new model of formation encourages the participation and inclusion of the aspirants, candidates and deacons wives in the program. They are invited to participate and engage in the formational and social activities developed for them during the years of formation. Participation, acceptance and support of the wife in her husband s vocation and formation to the diaconate are imperative for his continued participation in formation. For the ordained deacons wives, it is a way of enhancing their commitment to their husband s vocation and their own growth through workshops; some specifically for them and some together with their husbands.
