At the same time, they had the opportunity to visit the city of Pompeii and the Amalfi coast. On March 17th they visited the Abbey of Montecasino, where they prayed vespers with the monks, next to the tomb of Saint Benedict and Saint Scholastica. AGEN FORMATION PROGRAM FOR PERPETUAL VOWS From March 21st to April 3rd, the General Assistant for Education, Clotilde Fernández del Pozo, accompanied the group of sisters who are preparing for perpetual vows. In the photograph, at the end of the table, Sister Dominique Saunier, responsible for the program in Agen. The General Administration thanks the Community and the sisters of the Province of France who give the formation for their effort and great work. On March 26th, Monsignor Herbreteau celebrated the Chrism Mass. In his homily, he recalled the importance of the spirituality of Adele de Batz de Trenquelléon, a model for all the baptized and also for deacons and priests. "Let us keep, like Adele, the memory of our baptism, of our confirmation and of your ordination." On Holy Thursday, the Bishop of Agen washed the feet of 12 Marianist sisters. Page 2
RANCHI (INDIA) - BLESSING OF THE SCHOOL The school in Ranchi was blessed on April 4 th. The construction of the second floor continues, so the two classrooms, that next year will be used by 1 st-grade pupils, were blessed. Then the parents and the children played and had tea. Father Sebastian Bara, SM, blesses the new classrooms. FOOD FOR CHILDREN IN LOWADI S NEIGHBORHOOD (RANCHI) During Lent, the community kept a cup of rice and dal at each meal. On April 8th, they shared the joy of Easter with the children of the neighborhood, inviting them to have lunch. After lunch, they played in two teams: Adele and Chaminade. Página 3
CHILE - WORLD DAY OF THE MARIANIST VOCATION The Feast of the Annunciation gathered the Marianist Family of Chile to celebrate our vocation. COLOMBIA - SPIRITUAL RETREAT FOR TEACHERS FROM MADRE ADELA SCHOOL Sister Patricia Acuña traveled to Colombia where she gave a retreat to the teachers of Madre Adela school, about "Our mission as educators animated by Adele's spirituality" (left). She also celebrated with the Marianist Family the feast of the Annunciation (bottom right) and gave a retreat to the sisters (bottom left). Page 4
NEWS FROM MALAWI Greetings to all the sisters, candidates, postulants and novices from Maria House community. Happy Easter! May the risen Lord bless all of you and keep you safe and sound for Mary's mission. Thank you for your valuable prayers and for the support we are receiving in many ways, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Please continue praying. Little by little, we are establishing the mission of Mary among the people of Karonga, with the help of our Bishop, Martien Mtumbuka, of the local priests and nuns and our Marianist brothers. They are very kind and generous. We are growing some vegetables, planting trees, raising chickens and preparing the henhouse. We have two small dogs... and many other jobs going forward. ROME VISIT TO CONDOFURI (CALABRIA) From April 6th to 9th, Sr Franca Zonta, Sr Michela Messina, M. Anastasie Andriniaina (postulant), Sr Ana Lúcia de Góes y Chretienne Nozany (postulant), were in Condofuri, where there are a parish and a community of Marianist brothers. On the occasion of the feast of the Annunciation, they spoke about Mother Adele to groups of children, youth and, adults. Page 6
SAN ANTONIO (TEXAS) - MARIANIST HISTORY AND CHARISM Women's Perspective on Marianist History - Through the Eyes of Adele de Trenquelléon and Marie-Therese de Lamourous: On March 22nd, Sr. Grace Walle (as Adele) and Jessica Gonzalez Uhlig (Marie -Therese) presented on women's perspectives on Marianist history. The presentation was followed by lunch with a French flair. Sr. Gretchen Trautman and Sr. Durie Kim also attended, along with many women from St. Mary's University. Blessing of Women, Feast of the Annunciation: On March 23rd, Sr. Grace Walle and Sr. Gretchen Trautman led a prayer service and blessing of women at St. Mary's University to celebrate the Feast of the Annunciation and Women's History Month. Sr. Durie Kim also attended along with many from campus. Formation in the charism will always be core to us.
