Modified Daniel Fast 21 Days of Fasting Prayer during this Modified Daniel Fast: 1. Each day you should spend at least 1 hour of quiet time with the Lord. At lunch spend at least half of your lunch time in prayer and meditation. In addition to your regular family evening devotional time, spend quiet devotional time alone with the Lord. 2. The Church will gather at the following times for prayer: Mondays 7:00pm 9:00pm; Wednesdays 7:00pm 7:30pm; Saturdays 8:00am 10:00am; Sundays 6:00pm - 6:30pm Preparing for a Modified Daniel Fast: 1. Make your meals somewhat lighter for a few days leading up to the fast. 2. You may experience headaches the first few days of this fast as your body rids itself of toxins. 3. Avoid distractions; try to avoid secular TV, radio, unhealthy conversation. NB Remember fasting is a voluntary task but a duty of the Believers. Remember to consult your doctor before embarking on any fast, especially if you have a pre-existing medical condition. Following your Commitment: 1. This fast is between you and the Lord Jesus Christ. Stick to your commitment; God is pleased when we follow through with what we say. (Joel 1:14, Eccl. 5:5-6). 2. Relate to one another in love (Romans 14). 3. Engage in a bible study during the fast and set new goals for spiritual growth and understanding. (Ephesians 1:15-19, Psalm 91) 1

Let us stand in the gap for each other! Let us fight for each other! I will fight for you! Please be fighting for me! Let us be in one accord. Scriptures for meditation for our 21 day Modified Daniel Fast: Our Key thought: Restoration Our Key Scripture: Joel 2:1-32 Our Key Verse: Verse 25: And I will RESTORE to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. What Is It that Needs to Be Restored? 1) The word of God having Free Course in each of our lives, and for those who we pray for. (2 Thes. 3:1) 2) The church getting back to the heart of worship (Psalm 95) 3) Humility, Prayer, Seeking Jehovah s face, and turning from our wicked ways (2 Chron. 7:14) 4) Living a Spirit-filled life: Ephesians 5:18b, but be filled with the spirit. 5) The gifts of the spirit as is recorded in 1 Cor. 12: 4-11 6) The Apostolic gifts as we see in Ephesians 4: 8-16 7) Unity in the church, in the home, in families, etc. (Ephesians 4: 13) 8) To sum it all up, ALL that the enemy has robbed from God s people. Joel 2 1 Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in My holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble; for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand 2 a day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains. A great people and a strong, there hath not been ever the like; neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations. 3
3 A fire devoureth before them, and behind them a flame burneth. The land is as the Garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them. 4 The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run. 5 Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array. 6 Before their face the people shall be much pained; all faces shall gather blackness. 7 They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks. 8 Neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk every one in his path; and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded. 9 They shall run to and fro in the city, they shall run upon the wall; they shall climb up upon the houses, they shall enter in at the windows like a thief. 10 The earth shall quake before them, the heavens shall tremble; the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining 11 And the LORD shall utter His voice before His army, for His camp is very great. For He is strong that executeth His word; for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible, and who can abide it? 12 Therefore also now, saith the Lord, turn ye even to Me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning. 13 And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the Lord your God; for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth of the evil. 14 Who knoweth if He will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind Him even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the Lord your God? 15 Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast! Call a solemn assembly, 16 gather the people! Sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children and those that suck the breasts; let the bridegroom go forth from his chamber and the bride out of her retreat. 17 Let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep between the porch and the altar; and let them say, Spare Thy people, O Lord, and give not Thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them. Why should they say among the people, Where is their God? 18 Then will the Lord be jealous for His land, and pity His people. 19 Yea, the Lord will answer and say unto His people: Behold, I will send you corn and wine and oil, and ye shall be satisfied therewith; and I will no more make you a reproach among the heathen. 20 But I will remove far off from you the northern army, and will drive him into a land barren and desolate, with his face toward the east sea, and his hinder part toward the utmost sea. And his stink shall come up, and his ill savor shall come up because He hath done great things. 21 Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice, for the Lord will do great things. 22 Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field; for the pastures of the wilderness spring up, for the tree beareth her fruit, the fig tree and the vine do yield their strength. 4
23 Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God; for He hath given you the early rain moderately, and He will cause to come down for you the rain, the early rain and the latter rain in the first month. 24 And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with wine and oil. 25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm and the caterpillar and the palmer worm, My great army which I sent among you. 26 And ye shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God that hath dealt wondrously with you; and My people shall never be ashamed 27 And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the Lord your God, and none else; and My people shall never be ashamed 28 And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions; 29 and also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out My Spirit. 30 And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth blood and fire and pillars of smoke. 31 The sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the Lord come. 32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered; for in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the Lord hath said, and in the remnant whom the Lord shall call. In addition to Joel 2 we will meditate on Jeremiah 31: 3-9: Jeremiah 31: 3-9 3 The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee. 4 Again I will build thee, and thou shalt be built, O virgin of Israel; thou shalt again be adorned with thy timbrels, and shalt go forth in the dances of them that make merry. 5 Thou shalt yet plant vines upon the mountains of Samaria; the planters shall plant, and shall eat them as common things. 6 For there shall be a day that the watchmen upon Mount Ephraim shall cry, Arise ye, and let us go up to Zion unto the Lord our God. 7 For thus saith the Lord: Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the chief of the nations; proclaim ye, praise ye, and say, O Lord, save Thy people, the remnant of Israel. 8 Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the coasts of the earth, and with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child, and her that travaileth with child together; a great company shall return thither. 9 They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them; I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble; for I am a Father to Israel, and Ephraim is My firstborn. 5
Acts 2: 1-4 1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak in other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. This is how we must be! Just as they were! In the book of 1 Samuels 14:1-23 (key verse: 7) we saw the result of what can happen through the power of agreement. The entire Philistine Army was defeated! We must be in agreement! We must be in one accord! Beloved! When God s requirement is met, and we are in one accord, there is no telling what can happen! The first full day of the fast is Friday, March 28 th ; The last full day of the fast is Thursday, April 17 th. It s going to be a wonderful journey! Psalm 51:12 12 Restore unto me the joy of Thy salvation, and uphold me with Thy free Spirit. Acts 1: 4-8 4 And being assembled together with them, He commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith He, ye have heard from Me; 5 for John truly baptized with water, but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. 6 When they therefore had come together, they asked of Him, saying, Lord, wilt Thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? 7 And He said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons which the Father hath put in His own power. 8 But ye shall receive power after the Holy Ghost is come upon you; and ye shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. 6
Zechariah 10: 4-10 4 Out of him came forth the corner, out of him the nail, out of him the battle bow, out of him every oppressor together. (The word corner, is refering to Cornerstone. ) 5 And they shall be as mighty men, who tread down their enemies in the mire of the streets in the battle; and they shall fight because the Lord is with them, and the riders on horses shall be confounded. 6 And I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph, and I will bring them back to place them, for I have mercy upon them. And they shall be as though I had not cast them off, for I am the Lord their God and will hear them. 7 And they of Ephraim shall be like a mighty man, and their heart shall rejoice as through wine; yea, their children shall see it and be glad; their heart shall rejoice in the Lord. 8 I will whistle for them and gather them, for I have redeemed them; and they shall increase as they have increased. 9 And I will sow them among the people, and they shall remember Me in far countries; and they shall live with their children and turn again. 10 I will bring them back also out of the land of Egypt, and gather them out of Assyria; and I will bring them into the land of Gilead and Lebanon, and a place shall not be found for them. Isaiah 58: 6-14 6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? 7 Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him, and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh? 8 Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily; and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy rearward. 9 Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer; thou shalt cry, and He shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger and speaking vanity, 10 and if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry and satisfy the afflicted soul, then shall thy light rise in obscurity and thy darkness be as the noonday. 11 And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones; and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water whose waters fail not. 12 And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places; thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations, and thou shalt be called the Repairer of the Breach, the Restorer of Paths to dwell in. 7
13 If thou turn away thy foot from the Sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on My holy day, and call the Sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honorable, and shalt honor Him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words, 14 then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father; for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it. Obadiah 1: 17 17 But upon Mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions. One of the greatest examples of restoration is recorded in 1 Samuel 30: 1-31. JEHOVAH assured David that he would recover all. In verses 18-20 we see that he recovered all and more! By the help of The Almighty, we will have a divine Restoration!!! JEHOVAH - He is the Unchanging God! Also look at Isaiah 54: 1-17 and Isaiah 49: 1-26 (Salvation is promised for the children in verse 25) You may add other Scriptures as the Spirit of the Lord will lead.
