NO AFTERNOON ADORATION ON HOLY THURSDAY On Holy Thursday, March 29 th there will not be Eucharistic Adoration at St. Ann Parish. Adoration on Thursdays from 12 noon to 3:00PM will resume at St. Ann on April 5 th. GOOD FRIDAY FAST AND ABSTINENCE Catholics over 14 years of age are bound to the obligation of abstinence. Abstinence is to be observed on all Fridays of Lent. On days of abstinence, meat may not be used at all. Fast: Catholics over 18 and up to the beginning of their 60 th year are bound to the obligation of fasting. Good Friday is a day of fasting. On this day, only one full meal is allowed. Two other meatless meals, sufficient to maintain strength, may be taken according to each one s needs, but together they should not equal another full meal. Eating between meals is not permitted, but liquids, including milk and fruit juices are allowed. GOOD FRIDAY PONTIFICAL COLLECTION Every year each parish in the United States takes up a collection on Good Friday, as designated by the Holy Father which helps support the work of the Franciscans in the Holy Land. This collection keeps Christianity alive in this area made holy by the life, suffering, death and resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ. EASTER SEASON SCRIPTURE STUDY Celia Sirois will present a 5-week study series during the Easter Season on Tuedays from April 3 rd through May 1 st in the parish hall at Sacred Heart. The sessions will run from 10am to noon and will focus on the Easter Mystery. The suggested donation is $5/person per session. Reservations are not necessary, but be sure to bring your Bible!
