For God and the Church

Hymn Christ triumphant ever reigning, Saviour, Master, King, Lord of heav'n, our lives sustaining, Hear us as we sing: Yours the glory and the crown, the high renown, the eternal name. Word incarnate, truth revealing, Son of Man on earth! Power and majesty concealing By your humble birth: Yours the glory and the crown, the high renown, the eternal name. Suffering servant, scorned, ill-treated, Victim crucified! Death is through the Cross defeated, Sinners justified: Yours the glory and the crown, the high renown, the eternal name. Priestly King, enthroned for ever High in heaven above! Sin and death and hell shall never Stifle hymns of love: Yours the glory and the crown, the high renown, the eternal name. So, our hearts and voices raising Through the ages long, Ceaselessly upon you gazing, This shall be our song: Yours the glory and the crown, the high renown, the eternal name.

Preparatory Prayers C. In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. All C. The Lord be with you All And with your spirit Penitential Act I confess to Almighty God, and to you by brothers and sisters, that I have greatly sinned in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done, and in what I have failed to do through my fault, through my fault, through my most grevious fault; therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-virgin, all the angels and saints and you, my brothers and sisters, to pray for me to the Lord our God. Absolution May Almighty God have mercy upon us, forgive us our sins and bring us to everlasting life. Kyrie

Collect Almighty God, the fountain of all goodness, bless our Sovereign Lady, Queen Elizabeth, and all who are in authority under her; that they may order all things in wisdom and equity, righteousness and peace, to the honour and glory of your name and the good of your Church and people; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. The Liturgy of the Word The readings will be read from an exact reprint of the 1611 version of the King James Bible as presented to every school in England this year by the Secretary of State for Education to commemorate the quartercentenary of its publication. A reading from the Letter to the Romans XIII: 1-12 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake. For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour. Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. The Word of the Lord Thanks be to God

The Gospel Acclamation Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia. The Holy Gospel C. The Lord be with you All And with your spirit C. A reading from the Holy Gospel according to St Matthew All Glory to you, O Lord And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men. Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not? But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites? Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's. When they had heard these words, they marvelled, and left him, and went their way. St Matthew 22: 16-22 C. This is the Gospel of the Lord All Praise to you, O Christ Please sit The Homily

Prayer of the Faithful Intercessor: All Lord, in your mercy Hear our prayer Offertory Hymn In our day of thanksgiving one psalm let us offer for the saints who before us have found their reward; when the shadow of death fell upon them, we sorrowed, but now we rejoice that they rest in the Lord. In the morning of life, and at noon, and at even, he called them away from our worship below, but not till his love, at the font and the altar, had girt them with grace for the way they should go. These stones that have echoed their praises are holy, and dear is the ground where their feet have once trod, yet here they confessed they were strangers and pilgrims, and still they were seeking the city of God. Sing praise, then, for all who here sought and here found him, whose journey is ended, whose perils are past: they believed in the Light; and its glory is round them, where the clouds of earth's sorrow are lifted at last. The Liturgy of the Eucharist The Preparation of the Gifts C. Pray, my brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours, may be acceptable to God the almighty Father. All May the Lord accept this sacrifice at your hands, for the praise and glory of his name, for our good and the good of all his holy Church. The Eucharistic Prayer C. The Lord be with you All And with your spirit C. Lift up your hearts All We lift them up to the Lord C. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God All It is right to give him thanks and praise

The Preface Sanctus It is truly right and just, Our duty and our salvation, everywhere to give you thanks, Father most Holy, through your beloved Son, Jesus Christ, your Word through whom you made all things, whom you sent as our Saviour and Redeemer, Incarnate by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin. Fulfilling your will and gaining for you a holy people, he stretched out his hand as he endured his Passion, so as to break the bonds of death and manifest the Resurrection. And so, with Angels and all the Saints, we declare your glory, as with one voice we acclaim: Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God of Power and God of Might Heaven and earth Heaven and earth are full of your glory Your power and might. Hosanna in the Highest Heavens. Benedictus Blessed, blessed is he who comes Blessed, blessed is he who comes Blessed is he, blessed is he Who comes in the Name of the Lord Hosanna in the Highest Heavens. The Communion You are indeed Holy, O Lord, the fount of all holiness. Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray, by sending your Spirit upon them like the dewfall, so that they may become for us the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.

At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his Passion, he took bread and, giving thanks, broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying: Take this all of you and eat of it, for this is my body which will be given up for you. In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice and, once more, giving thanks, he gave it to his disciples saying: Take this all of you and drink from it, for this is the chalice of my blood of the new and eternal covenant, which will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins, do this in memory of me. C. The mystery of faith All Christ has died. Christ has risen. Christ will come again. C. Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his Death and Resurrection, we offer you Lord, the Bread of Life and Chalice of Salvation, giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you. Humbly, we pray that, partaking of the Body and Blood of Christ, we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit. Remember Lord your church spread throughout the world, and bring her into the fullness of charity together with +Rowan, archbishop of Canterbury and +Richard, our bishop and + Peter his assistant bishop. Have mercy on us all we pray, that with the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, St John the Baptist, Ss Peter and Paul, St Mary Magdalene and all the saints who have pleased you throughout the ages, we may merit to be coheirs to eternal life, and praise and glorify you through your Son, Jesus Christ. Through him, with him and in him, O God, Almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honour is yours, for ever and ever.

The Communion Rite The Lord s Prayer C. At our Saviour s command and formed by his divine teaching, we dare to say: Our Father, who art in heaven hallowed be thy Name, thy kingdom come; thy will be done; on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. C. Deliver us, Lord we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin, and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and coming of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever. The Peace C. Lord Jesus Christ who said to your Apostles, Peace I leave you, my peace I give you; look not on our sins, but on the faith of your Church, and graciously grant her peace and unity in accordance with your will, who live and reign forever and ever. C. The peace of the Lord be with you always All And with your spirit C. Let us offer each other the sign of peace

Agnus Dei Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy upon us, Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy upon us, Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, grant us peace. The Invitation to Communion C. Behold the Lamb of God. Behold him who takes away the sins of the world. Blessed are those who are called to the supper of the Lamb. All Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed. Please drink from the Chalice rather than dipping the Host in the Wine. The Body of Christ + The Blood of Christ + Communion Motet by the Choir Mr Hills will lead our new choir as they sing, God the Spirit comes to stay Communion Hymn Tune: McAloon by John Bell Words: Iona Community Wild Goose Resource Group This is my body broken for you bringing you wholeness, making you free Take it and eat it and when you do Do it in love for me. Diamond Jubilee Collect C. Let us pray We stand God of time and eternity, whose Son reigns as servant, not master; we give you thanks and praise that you have blessed this Nation, the Realms and Territories with ELIZABETH, our beloved and glorious Queen. In this year of Jubilee, grant her your gifts of love and joy and peace as she continues in faithful obedience to you, her Lord and God and in devoted service to her lands and peoples, and those of the Commonwealth, now and all the days of her life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. C. The Lord be with you All And with your spirit C. Let us proceed in peace, alleluia All In the Name of Christ, alleluia Please join the procession when directed by the stewards The Procession Ye who own the faith of Jesus, sing the wonders that were done when the love of God the Father over sin the victory won, when he made the Virgin Mary mother of his only Son. Hail Mary, hail Mary, hail Mary, full of grace. Blessed were the chosen people out of whom the Lord did come; blessed was the land of promise fashioned for his earthly home; but more blessed far the mother, she who bare him in her womb. Hail Mary, hail Mary, hail Mary, full of grace.

Wherefore let all faithful people tell the honour of her name; let the Church, in her foreshadowed, part in her thanksgiving claim; what Christ's mother sang in gladness let Christ's people sing the same. Hail Mary, hail Mary, hail Mary, full of grace. Let us weave our supplications, she with us and we with her, for the advancement of the faithful, for each faithful worshiper, for the doubting, for the sinful, for each heedless wanderer. Hail Mary, hail Mary, hail Mary, full of grace. May the Mother's intercessions on our homes a blessing win, that the children all be prospered, strong and fair and pure within, following our Lord's own footsteps, firm in faith and free from sin. Hail Mary, hail Mary, hail Mary, full of grace. For the sick and for the aged, for our dear ones far away, for the hearts that mourn in secret, all who need our prayers today, for the faithful gone before us, may the holy Virgin pray. Hail Mary, hail Mary, hail Mary, full of grace. Praise, O Mary, praise the Father, praise thy Saviour and thy Son, praise the everlasting Spirit, who hath made thee ark and throne o'er all creatures high exalted, lowly praise the Three in One. Hail Mary, hail Mary, hail Mary, full of grace. New English Hymnal 188: V.Stuckey S.
