We give thanks, honor and praise to God for such Pastor Lynn W. Beanum, Jr. unspeakable love. No greater love can a man give than this, that he will lay down his life for his friends. And we are the friends of God, if we do whatsoever He commands us to (John 15:13-14). Today, Easter points to the resurrection of Jesus Christ; however, at first Easter was not part of the Christian origin. It is another form of Astarte (one of the titles of the Chaldean goddess) also known as the queen of heaven. The festival of Pasch (Passover, Easter) was held by Christians in post-apostolic times and was a continuation of the Jewish feast as noted in Acts 12:4 (KJV). The resurrection of Jesus is the Christian s belief ( after being put to death to take the punishment deserve by others for the sins of the world) that Easter to us is Jesus HE IS RISEN Christ's victory over death. His resurrection symbolizes the eternal life that is granted to all who believe in Him. The meaning of Easter also symbolizes the complete verification of all that Jesus preached and taught during His three-year ministry. If He had not risen from the dead, if He had merely died and not been resurrected, He would have been considered just another teacher or Rabbi. However, His resurrection changed all that. It gave final and irrefutable proof that He was really the Son of God and that He had conquered death once and for all. Today, the meaning of Easter for millions of Christians is that of honoring and recognizing Jesus Christ s resurrection from the dead, after three days in the tomb, and His glorious promise of eternal life for all who believe in him. We've been given a hope that we may know him, and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his suffering to be made conformable unto his death (Phil. 3:10). Hallelujah to our great God! Amen, Amen, Amen! Verse for the Month That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles. -Acts 26:23

A Word from Our Editor Anchored In The Lord Greetings in the marvelous name of Jesus. Let s have a fireside chat. I have a few questions to ask. What if the storms don t cease? What if the winds keep on blowing in your life? What do you do? Thank God there is an answer! You hold to God s unchanging hand and allow Him to hold to YOU! J esu s made it possible that our lives can be anchored in Victory. Through His death on the Cross, we can trust His plan. Through His blood, we can be secured in Him. Our souls can be anchored in the Lord. When Christ died on Calvary, He made a way of escape. We are not defeated, we are not hopeless, but we are victorious in Christ Jesus. The blood still works. It s not too late to call on His Holy name and be anchored in the One who died for us. Jesus is yet beckoning us to come unto Him. John 11:25-30 (KJV) states, Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet Elders Speak Power to Rise As we approach this resurrection season and reflect back on the scriptures, we are reminded of our Lord s omnipotence. Omnipotence refers to the fact of our Savior having unlimited power and ability. He s a mighty God! Although the plot of the Jews was to put an end to Jesus once and for all, Jesus had forewarned them that they were not in control of His fate or destiny. He said, No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. [John 10:18] That is exactly what happened; after a horrible crucifixion, Jesus Christ rose from the dead on the third day. How did he do it? The answer is simple He had the power! Sister Marilyn Silver shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world. Do you believe that Christ is the Son of God? He alone is GOD!! He holds us in place. There may be times when it s hard to tell the night from day, but keep your eyes upon the distant shore (on God, on the Prize). Be steadfast in Him. James 1:12 (KJV) encourages us stating, Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. No better place to be than to be Anchored in the Lord Jesus Christ. God bless you. by: Minister Torrey Miller As followers of Christ in this 21st Century, know that you have been given power to rise above any situation or circumstance the enemy brings your way. The Holy Spirit that resides on the inside empowers us for our journey through life. There are times when unpleasant life events will come to destroy us, just as the crucifixion event was intended to put an end to Jesus. Nevertheless, we have the power to rise Power to Rise above them all. I declare, No weapon that is formed against t h e e s h a l l prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Page 2 Temple of Deliverance, HCG, Inc. Temple Men Speak By: Deacon Matthew Pendleton A Doctor s Perspective Greetings, on this 4th month of the year called April. Normally, the month of April s weather is constantly warm, throughout the month in this part of the country. I prefer warmer weather because I m more prone to be outside working, or at least doing some kind of exercise. You see, just a couple of weeks ago, I had a doctor s appointment. My appointment went great as far as my results go, but it was the lecture I received about my weight gain over the winter months since my last visit. My goal now is to lose ten (10) pounds before my next visit in six months. At one time that was easy, but now it s work. Thank God for the weather, and yes, thank God for my doctor; she is my motivator to lose weight. I must admit, I don t always stick with my weight loss plan, but I do try to listen to my doctor. Once a year I m given an opportunity, to submit an article in our newsletter and I don t want it to be about my doctor and me. Yet, I do want it to be about a doctor. My article is a brief look at Doctor Luke, one of the writers of the four Gospels in the Bible. Even though the gospel does not mention the author s name. Nor was Dr. Luke part of the Twelve, as a matter of fact, he was not even a Jew. Some may not have known this, but he wrote from the standpoint of a close observer, not even an eyewitness. Have you ever listened to his introductory remarks? It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to writ unto thee in order; most excellent Theophilus, That thou mightiest know the certainty of those things, wherein thou hast been instructed (Luke 1:3-4). Dr. Luke wrote about the birth of Jesus Christ, the birth of John the Baptist, and the beginning ministry of Jesus. His selection of stories reflects his own warm interest in people, the sick and helpless, the poor, women, children, and the social outcasts. He highlights stories such as Mary s visit to Elizabeth, Jesus heals a leper, the paralytic walk, and the widow s son back to life. The beauty of Luke s gospel is that he focused on the humanity of Jesus Christ while also recognizing His deity. He showed us the human side of our Savior like none other, and presents Him as the Son of Man. God was made known in the flesh for the redemption of mankind. We often look at Christ s deity and highly value that truth but it is His human side that made our redemption possible. It is His humanity that we most identify with. He became like us that we might become like Him. To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation (II Cor. 5:19). Paul states that God was in Christ, the Son of Man, to restore his relation with humanity. Dr. Luke s stories paint a clear picture of God s love for all, in the humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ. Temple Women Speak By: Sis. Dory McIntosh DON T PANIC Be still and know that I am God. I m grateful for God because He has been a way maker, a healer and a comforter in times of so much trouble. Many hardships are in my life, but I thank God that He is keeping me and showing me that He will do just what He says He will do. He s a God of mercy and grace. I thank God for dying on the cross for me. He took the nails in His hands and feet, the piercing in His side, the crown of thorns on His head, the beatings and the blood was shed for me. So don t panic, don t be afraid, it s all about Jesus. He did it all on the Cross. Praises, Honor and Glory be to GOD! Volume 35, Issue 4- April 5, 2015 Page 3

The Hurting Church: Why we get hurt and hurt others -Written by Gail Rodgers (submitted by: Mother Ruby Beanum) The hurting church is not an occasional dilemma. More and more often we find people who have been hurt deeply within the family of God, leaving them worn and exhausted. More and more often we find leaders in conflict within the body of believers, robbed of the joy Jesus promised in Him. When we find this hurt hanging on to our own bruised soul, it can make us want to leave the church and sometimes even want to back burner our God who seems to have allowed it all. Do not Leave your Church! Sadly, we have come to accept that this is the way church is. There is an epidemic of fractured believers out there and we have actually come to accept this as the norm. So we either stay away and let our hearts become cold or we put on our Sunday best, call forward march and implement a new vision or program and hope the problems will just go away. The hurt in individual hearts and churches gets buried until it gets bumped again. Can we break this cycle that happens over and over in heart after heart, and church after church? I am continually amazed at the simplicity of God s Word and the direct instructions He shares with us. The Father s heart toward us, His children, is so open and loving as He instructs us in living in the day-to-day challenges of rubbing shoulders where the rubber meets the road. The steps God gives us are simple, though not necessarily easy. They are steps that can help us move from being reactive in conflict to becoming proactive in guarding our hearts and our churches. And, as steps always do, they will take us to higher ground where we can live above disunity and confusion. The framework these steps are built on is love. Love is also the handrail that helps move us along from one step to another. Without love, the steps move us from the fulfillment of right living that God calls us to, to selfrighteous living, which is hollow and void of the power of the Holy Spirit. God says our trademark will be love. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another (John 13:35). (Steps 1 & 2 printed in previous issues) Step 3. Don t be afraid of accountability It seems we have come to allow gossip, slander and anger to simply be overlooked and rationalized in our churches. We excuse the fractures among believers by telling ourselves that God is purging our church, He is bringing justice. We stand up and glibly say, God is in Control while heads roll and tears fall and tender spirits get bruised and crushed. We forget that God gives us a choice in how we deal with matters and that the enemy is alive and well, attempting to influence those choices. We forget that for God to be in control of the moment, the conversation or the situation, we need to say yes to Him in allowing His Spirit to work in us and through us. Psalm 15 depicts the marks of an authentic Christian. It says, He casts no slur on his fellowman. but honors those who fear the Lord. In any given troubling situation we need to honestly ask ourselves, Am I making choices that allow God to be in control here or am I taking control? Proverbs 3: 5 & 6 tells us to Trust in the Lord with your whole heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your path straight. If your own understanding is resulting in opinions and actions that bring division, be accountable for what is going on in your own heart. God speaks harshly about the one who promotes division (Titus 3:10). If you are prompted to speak to one who is causing division, remember the trademark and go in love and in the power of the Holy Spirit. Don t be afraid to call or be called to accountability. We can run to God, our help. God is sovereign and He is the great redeemer. No matter how bad a situation is, if He is invited in, at any point, He will come in and redeem the situation, work things out for our good and His glory (Romans 8:28) and put a de-railed train back on the tracks. 2 Chron. 7:14 - If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked (selfish) ways, then I will heal their land. Their church, their heart It s a sure promise!...to BE CONTINUED Christianshirts.net Volume 35, Issue 4 April 5, 2015 Page 7

The Goodness of God (EXCERPTS) http://christiancaregiving.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html Recently I did a Bible study lesson on the goodness of God. The lesson talked about the good reasons why we suffer and how God is more interested in our inward character and conforming us to the image of Christ than in our comfort. Conforming us to the image of Christ is one of the reasons for trials in our lives. The lesson went on to say that sometimes the pain seems to outweigh the best of benefits. However, we may understand reasons and answers in our heads, but those reasons do not always reach where it hurts in the heart. The challenges of caregiving or other of life s trials can be so painful that it is difficult to see how the growth in our characters compensates for the pain we are experiencing. Posted by Sharon will satisfy. The answer therefore must be... Someone. God does better than giving us answers. He gives us Himself. Also He explained Himself on the cross. His goodness displayed in His sacrifice of Himself on the cross is really the only proof we need of His love and goodness. Believing in the goodness of God does not mean that the heartaches will completely disappear. It does, however, help us move forward and persevere in life. I find those thoughts comforting. If I did not believe in the goodness and presence of God, I am not sure where I would be today. Thank You, Lord, for that blessed reality! Thank you that You are there in the moments of heartache. There perhaps are no answers to the whys? in our lives that will fully satisfy us. Completely understanding God s answer to our whys? also would not necessarily make them easier. God doesn t always give us reasons or answers, at least not ones that Thanks to the many readers who have contributed to the Newsletter with your prayers, encouragements and finances!
