Message Notes Act Normal Part One Life Church Smyrna Wednesday, April 4, 2018 7:00pm Pastor Shell Osbon James 1:22 Do not deceive yourselves by just listening to His Word; instead, put it into practice. (GNB) 1. Evaluate Your Spiritual Health Romans 12:1-3 1 And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all He has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice - the kind He will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship Him. 2 Don t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. 3 Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us. (NLT) Galatians 6:4 You should each judge your own conduct. If it is good, then you can be proud of what you yourself have done, without having to compare it with what someone else has done. (GNB) 2. You Are Not Alone Philippians 1:6 I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. (NLT) Philippians 2:13 God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him. (NLT) 3. (NKJV) 4. Get Busy Now John 14:12 I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in Me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father. (NLT) Acts 3:1-8 1 Peter and John went to the Temple one afternoon to take part in the three o clock prayer service. 2 As they approached the Temple, a man lame from birth was being carried in. Each day he was put beside the Temple gate, the one called the Beautiful Gate, so he could beg from the people going into the Temple. 3 When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for some money. 4 Peter and John looked at him intently, and Peter said, Look at us! (cont d) 5 The lame man looked at them eagerly, expecting some money. 6 But Peter said, I don t have any silver or gold for you. But I ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk! 7 Then Peter took the lame man by the right hand and helped him up. And as he did, the man s feet and ankles were instantly healed and strengthened. 8 He jumped up, stood on his feet, and began to walk! Then, walking, leaping, and praising God, he went into the Temple with them.
