The manuscript entitled Methodist Places, which is in Dr William s Library, London, is the source of much of the data quoted end examined and gives a valuable insight of Methodism in the late Georgian period. The Methodists in the Alderney Militia in the 1790 s were nicknamed Gideon s Army.
