One day he was in his house and God called to him, Ananias! Here I am, Lord, Ananias replied. Go to a street called Straight, God said. Find a man named Saul, who is praying there. He has seen you in a vision (a special experience when God gave Saul specific instructions) coming to help him. I know about this man, Ananias said. He wants to hurt all the people who love Jesus. Go and help him, God said. I will use this man to tell people about My Son, Jesus. So Ananias went to the house and found Saul. Saul had been blinded by a bright light on the road into the city. They ordered the jailer to chain them so they were not able to escape from the jail. In the middle of the night, Paul and Silas were praying and singing songs to God. The other prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was an earthquake. The earthquake shook the jail, the doors opened, and everyone s chains came off. When the jailer saw the open doors, he thought the prisoners had escaped. But Paul called out to him, All of us are here! The jailer asked for lights then rushed in to Paul and Silas. I want to believe what you believe, the jailer said. How can I do that? Believe that Jesus is the Son of God, Paul told him. The jailer took Paul and Silas to his home and gave them some food.
