ASAP wishing all a happy Valentines Day!! Feb. 14th Hope all of you had a nice New Year s Day, and are beginning to adjust to the new year. As you know, Catholic Daughters was asked to host the reception for Archbishop Hurley s funeral service, so our organization has begun a busy year already. I give a big THANK YOU to all you Catholic Daughters who brought food and came in to help with the preparation and cleanup. The church was full, and there was not one parking space available after the mass began. The police were turning people away. One Catholic Daughter was allowed in only because she explained that she was helping and was being dropped off. Catholic Daughters also participated in the Prayer service at the Anchorage Cemetery the following day, which showed good support from our organization to the Pro-Life effort. Our busy year continues with next month s RCIA reception which is another function that Catholic Daughters usually is asked to host. Deacon Mick personally requested our help this year, and wants me to let all you know how grateful he and the archdiocese is for our faithful and continued support. The archdiocese directed what was going to be served at Archbishop Hurley s reception and also directed the parishes s involvement with helping to bring food, but the RCIA reception is fully directed and hosted by CDA so we will be using our calling committee group to request help from all our CDA members. Finally, I would like to let you know that Catholic Daughters has a special tribute to Archbishop Hurley which will be published in the February issue of the Anchor. It was decided that Archbishop Hurley deserved our special recognition due to his devotion to Catholic Daughters throughout all the years. Hope you like the ad, and hope to see you at our next meeting. In Love and Charity, Mary
