Cressy, affirming under the penalties for perjury, states that: lam a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in and for the 60 th Judicial Circuit, St. Joseph County, State. of Indiana, and make this affidavit after reviewing verified South Bend Police reports which were submitted to me. On or about June 9, 2014, Inv. Robert Wise and Sgt. Timothy Medich of the Metro Special Operations Section (MSOS used a Confidential Informant (C.lto make a controlled purchase of synthetic drugs, specifically synthetic marijuana, from the Stop N Shop located at 1039 Lincoln Way West, South Bend, Indiana. Inv. Wise and Sgt. Medich met withthec.i..at apredetenninedlocation and searched hislher person and vehicle for weapons, illegal drugs, and drug paraphernalia. Finding none, the C.I. was given twenty dollars ($20.00 in United States currency to use for the purchase. The C.I. was given video and audio recording devices and transported to 1039 Lincoln Way West. Once in the area of the Stop N Shop, thec.i. exited the officers' vehicle.the officers maintained constant surveillance on the C.I. as helshe walked to the. store. The C.I. entered the store and after a few moments exited and returned to the officers' vehicle. 1

TheC.I. then handed Inv. Wise a package marked with the brand name "iblown" and five douars ($5.00 in United States currency. The C.I. advised Inv. Wise that he/she entered the store and made contact with a male clerk. The C.l. asked the clerk for "smokes" and "iblown."("smokes" is street slang for synthetic drugs and "iblown" is a known brand name of synthetic drugs t specifically synthetic marijuana. The CJ. stated that he/she handed the clerk the $20.00 supplied to him/her by MSOS. The male clerk placed then placed the twenty dollar bill in the cash register and. handed thec'!. five dollars in change. The clerk was later identified as Christopher Crockrom. During the comse of the transactio~ Crockrom cautioned the C.I. to be alert to police presence in the area of the store. ---Inv. Wise performed a field test on the substance inside the"iblown" packet. The substance field tested positive for the presence of synthetic drugs. The substance was weighed inside its original packaging. The total gross weight was 8.0 grams. Later in the day of June 9t 2014, law enforcement officers from multiple agencies executed a search warrant at the Stop N Shop. Crockrom was located inside the store along with a man later identified as MUSHT AK TALIB AL-SAFI. AL-SAFI is named as the registered agent for "Moe's Shop and Shopt LLC" located at 1039 Lincoln Way West, South Bendt Indiana through the Indiana Secretary of State's Office. During the search of the businesst officer located additional packets of"iblown" behind the counter and in a storage area. Inv. Wise performed a field test on a sample of the additional packets and received a positive result for the presence of synthetic drugs. 2

The total gross weight of the packets recovered during the search warrant was in.excess of two (2 grams. Crockrom was advised of his Miranda.rights and agreed to. speak with Inv. Rufino Gayton and Lt. Daniel Skibbins of the South Bend Police Department. Crockrom referred to MUSHTAK TALIB AL-SAFI.as "Moe." Crockrom stated that AL-SAFI orders the goods for the business.
