This process begins with a journey of faith that culminates in full communion with the Church through Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. Further information is available by calling the Rectory. Our Parish Family invites all of its members to participate fully in our spiritual and social life.

Psalms 138:3 Scrip News Our Scrip program has been in place for one year and the good news is we have earned over $7500 in profit from our loyal base of 30 40 customers. Imagine what we could do if more people participated! We would like to continue offering scrip after all the Masses but WE NEED YOUR HELP! Fortunately we have had a handful of faithful volunteers selling Scrip this past year but are in need of more. All we are asking is for you to give 15 minutes of your time after the Mass you are already attending. It is easy and it helps to keep our program alive! We are especially in need of volunteers for the 4:30 Saturday Mass. Please consider this opportunity to volunteer. You may call the Rectory or Katy Fagan at our school (662 5935) if you are willing to volunteer or have any questions. THANK YOU!! Page Five Week of July 17 th 23 rd TECHNOLOGY UPDATE This past year St. Stephen School was the recipient of almost $50,000 in funds supplied through ARRA (American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009) received by and administered through the Pennsauken School District. This is a very important improvement for the school that was initially revealed by Mrs. Higgins, our principal, in the State of The School address held on May 10, 2011. This funding enabled us to update and upgrade the following: 1) all new laptop computers for the computer lab 2) replace outdated computers for teachers in every classroom 3) replace televisions in every classroom with flat screen TVs that are now linked to a central location allowing us to broadcast to each classroom simultaneously for educational and informational purposes 4) install TVs in other areas of the school that will allow us to view broadcasts when necessary. Areas include: School office, cafeteria, Computer lab and Science lab This is exciting and very welcome news for our students, parents, faculty and staff! CHASE GROSS MEDIA CENTER Beginning in September St. Stephen School will have a Media Center allowing live and taped broadcasts to go out to each of the classrooms and other designated areas of the school. This was made possible through various funding sources, including a generous donation by the 2011 8 th grade graduating class. Broadcasts will initially include daily prayers and announcements. There will be an opportunity for students to learn to use the equipment through one of the elective classes. The center is named after two of our beloved teachers, Mrs. Kara Chase (8 th grade and Social Studies) and Mr. Jim Gross (6 th grade, Math and Physical Education). REGISTRATION UPDATE We are registering students during the summer months for the fall. Please call Katy Fagan in our Advancement Office if you are interested in registering your child for the 2011 2012 school year. Here are some of the highlights St. Stephen School offers: State certified teachers Middle States accreditation Full or half day options for Preschool (Prek 3 and 4) Full day Kindergarten Before and After School Care Accelerated Language Arts and Math classes Upgraded computer lab Science Lab Weekly specials for K 5 include Computer, Library, Gym, Art and a foreign language Weekly elective classes for Grades 6 8 After school sports program includes field hockey, basketball, track and softball ST.
