8 SUNDAY 23RD FEBRUARY 2014 PAGE 8 SUPPORT FOR ST. JOSEPH S PARISH IN UGANDA PAGE 8 St. Joseph s Parish is the home parish of Fr. Aloysius Lumala. It is a country parish located in Mpigi District which is about 30kms away from Kampala capital city. St. Joseph s Parish was established in 1971 by the Missionaries of Africa, popularly known as "the White Fathers" but currently it is run by two Diocesan Local Priests. It has twelve (12) sub parishes with a total number of about 14,235 Catholics. Due to the increase in population in the area, the parish Church has been enlarged so that it could seat 650 people from the 420 it was originally designed for. It is also being refurbished whereby during the first phase of this work; the roof has been replaced and the sanctuary redone. The Parish Priest and Parishioners of St. Joseph s Parish as well as Fr. Aloysius invite the Parishioners of St. Teresa s, if they wish, to support them in the second phase of this refurbishment. This appeal is intended to help in purchasing new pews as well as installing electricity in the Church. Fr. Aloysius and Fr. Brendan will speak about this appeal at all Masses on the Weekend of 22nd/23rd th February 2014. Thank you so much in advance for your support and kindness in facilitating this Appeal.
