Merton College Chapel SERVICES and MUSIC Hilary Term 2015

Merton College Chapel Merton College was founded by Walter de Merton in 1264. Worship has been offered in the College Chapel for over seven hundred years. Today the Chapel is home to a lively and diverse Christian community which continues this faithful offering of worship with daily services during term. Visitors are welcome to join members of the College at all our services. The Chapel is part of the Church of England, within the worldwide Anglican Communion, and the Archbishop of Canterbury is the College s Visitor. All those who are communicant members of their own church are welcome to receive Holy Communion with us. The College Choir sings on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, its music enriching our worship. Members of College and Friends of the Choir can purchase the Choir s recordings from the Chapel Administrator (timothy.coleman@merton.ox.ac.uk). Copies are also available from the Porters Lodge. The Chapel supports a number of charities. Our collections this term will be donated to Root and Branch (www.rootandbranch.info), a therapeutic project for people in Oxfordshire living with mental health difficulties. On 27-29 March the College will hold its sixth Passiontide Festival. Passiontide at Merton will include services, concerts and lectures in preparation for Holy Week and Easter. Further information is available from the Chapel Administrator and the College website (www.merton.ox.ac.uk). Simon Jones Chaplain 2
