FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH FACILITIES USE POLICIES & PROCEDURES Members and non-members of First Christian church are welcome to use church facilities for various functions throughout the year. Please note that First Christian Church is a smoke-free and alcohol-free facility. Smoking and/or consumption of alcohol shall not be allowed or engaged in on any part of the premises or property of the church. TAYLOR HALL Taylor Hall shall be used by members and non-members alike for wedding receptions, musicals, plays, performances, dinners, lectures, worship and other appropriate uses for the space. It shall not be used for rummage sales, garage sales, plant sales, and other sales and activities that would detract from the overall appearance of the Hall or damage the Hall because of the nature of the use or in any manner not in keeping with the Christian Faith. However, the CWF/CMF may use Taylor Hall for their fund raising activities. Alcohol and smoking shall not be allowed or used on any part of the premises or property of First Christian Church. The fee for the use of Taylor Hall and the kitchen for non-members shall be $750.00/day. The fee for the use of Taylor Hall/kitchen and the sanctuary combined for non-members shall be $950.00/day. These fees shall be reduced by one third for nonprofit groups. These fees are based on a daily basis and they shall not be prorated per hour. In other words, if a person uses Taylor Hall from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Friday evening and has a reception the next morning in Taylor Hall, he/she shall pay a daily use fee for both Friday and Saturday for a total of $1,500.00. There is no usage fee for members of First Christian Church for Taylor Hall or the sanctuary. However, members shall pay a cleaning and custodial fee of $100 to the church for the Hall to be cleaned properly.* CATERING In addition to the fee for the use of the kitchen, non-members shall pay a $250.00 catering fee whenever a non-member contracts with a caterer to provide the food and the refreshments for receptions or events in Taylor Hall or other parts of the church. There is no catering fee for members of First Christian Church. However, members shall pay a cleaning and custodial fee of $100 to the church for the kitchen to be cleaned properly.* *Members under this policy are defined as participating members of First Christian Church who have been participating members for one year or more at the time of application for the use of the facilities or the child, grandchild, great-grandchild, parent or grandparent of a participating member of First Christian Church. 1

Group Usage Groups who charge a fee for admission to the event will pay the church usage fee. Such fee shall be on a sliding scale, depending on the ability of the group to pay, the admission price of the event, the purpose of the event, the group and its nature and their projected income for the event. The minimum fee will be $100 and the maximum will be $1,000. Depending on the nature of the event and the group, the group may also be charged an insurance fee for the cost of liability insurance. Waiver of the insurance fee will be granted upon proof of insurance. In addition to this usage fee, the group will pay a custodial fee. This amount shall be a base fee of $75 for four hours or less use of the building. Over four hours this amount shall be the overtime rate of the custodian times the hours worked by the custodian during the event and in cleaning up after the event. The group must have a church custodian present during all hours of the event. Groups who do not charge a fee for admission to the event will not be charged a usage fee. However, they will be charged a custodial fee as set forth above in the group policy. They may be charged an insurance fee as set forth above in the group policy. Regular tenants and users such as Al Anon, AA, the Cowtown Chorus, Cub Scouts, Weight Watchers, and the Charles Duke Singers will continue their present arrangement with First Christian; however, this may be changed in the future in accordance with this policy. The purpose of any outside group using the church should further the ecumenical and public church tradition of First Christian and the purpose of First Christian as stated in her constitution and by-laws. The General Board delegates to the executive team, the property team leaders and the senior minister the determination of the usage and the fees in accordance with this policy. This same church team will provide a contract for each outside group to enter into in conformance with this policy. The contract will set forth the name, nature, contact person, telephone and address of the group; the nature and content of the performance; the date and hours of the performance; whether a fee is charged; the fees charged by the church to the outside group; and any other relevant matters regarding the use of the building. Where a usage fee is charged, one-half of that fee is due to the church upon the church booking the date for the outside group. At each Board meeting, a report will be made to the Board of any requests and contracts by outside groups and the decisions pertaining thereto. Non-Member Facilities-Use Fee Schedule The following rates are for calendar day, regardless of actual hours in use; for example, a group using the facility for one evening and the following day will be charged for two (2) full days. One-third (1/3) of the total fee shall be paid as a non-refundable deposit at the time the reservation is made, with the balance to be paid in full no later than three (3) weeks prior to the event. Rooms must be left in the same general condition as upon arrival. 2
