FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH PIGEON FORGE LOVING GOD AND LOVING PEOPLE Thank you for your faithful giving on Prove the Tithe Sunday and for your generosity toward brother Ronnie and Mrs. Betty. You gave them over $2,100! Please be much in prayer for our Property Development Team. They have been working and you ll be hearing from them soon on a VERY important matter! Shepherd s Notes O God, thou art my God! I shall seek Thee earnestly. My soul thirsts for Thee, my flesh yearns for Thee in a dry and weary land where there is no water. Because Thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips will praise Thee, So long as I shall live I shall lift up my hands in Thy name. (Ps. 63:1-4) Well glory! It s been a wonderful fall. Praise the Lord for the change in seasons and the beauty all around us. Our Tennessee Baptist Convention meets next week at the Sevierville Convention Center. We ll join our fellow Baptists on Sunday evening, Nov. 13 for worship and an evangelistic service. I hope you ll join us as we seek to see some folks saved. Can you believe Thanksgiving and Christmas are upon us?! It s my favorite time of year and it s also a busy time of year as ministry teams are meeting and getting ready for a new church year. Thank you for your faithfulness to our Lord and His church. I love you all, Bro Dale

WAYNE S WORDS Thank you church family for your expressions of love through all your emails, cards, cooking, etc. that you did for Regi and I during this month of pastor appreciation! You never cease to amaze us of your love and gratitude! You make serving here a real joy and a place of unity. We are a Blessed church family with so much potential and enthusiasm for reaching people with The Good News of Jesus in our community and beyond. We are a growing church with new babies being born to people moving here to retire. With that said, we are always in need of leadership to help us in Sunday school, extended sessions, and to develop more means and ways of discipleship. On Sunday morning, Dec. 4 th at 9:15 am in The Carpenter Shop Theater, I am asking those of you that would be interested in serving once a month, or every Sunday, to meet with me so that I may inform you of our need in preschool and children A GREAT BIG THANK YOU, for all of your help in making our Fall Festival such a success! Thank you, students, for your participation and helping get the word out to the community children. The cakes, cookies, and Chili were a hit!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO SERVE OUR LORD IN THIS PLACE? GET INVOLVED AS WE CONTINUE TO LOVE GOD AND LOVE PEOPLE! In His love and grace, Pastor Wayne

LADIES BIBLE STUDY A new Ladies Bible Study has begun! We meet on Thursdays at 6:30 in the Fellowship Hall. It s not too late to join! Come and take your prayer life to the next level! Devote yourselves to prayer; stay alert in it with thanksgiving. GriefShare meets on Sundays at 4:30pm - 6:00pm in Room 101-A. If you know someone who has lost a loved one, please let them know about GriefShare. December 17th at 6:00pm & December 18th at 10:30am To the one who brings love Glory Divine. Our Music Ministry has been hard at work these past few months getting ready for Christmas, but it s still not too late to join in on the fun. This year s Christmas production will again feature a live nativity as the story of Christmas comes to life with a 40 voice choir, children s choir, handbells, and new for this year, live orchestra. Our program will be Saturday December 17 at 6 PM and Sunday December 18 at 10:30 AM. If you love music, and love to worship the Lord, I ask that you prayerfully consider joining us in our Music and Worship Ministry here at First Baptist. But more than that, we ask for your prayers and attendance for our program. Please as the Lord to lay someone on your heart that you can invite to this year, truly experience the Glory that came down at Christmas!! I love you all! Bro. Joel

Update from the Kilmer s in Alaska We have really enjoyed spending the month of October serving as winter caretakers at Echo Ranch. We ve stayed busy - with various work projects, hosting friends and weekend volunteers, going to town once a week for staff meetings, doing some painting and organizing in our camp apartment, and just enjoying each others company and some time of rest. The month has really gone by fast! One night early in October, we found a mother bear and two yearling cubs on the back porch! The salmon run was so poor this year that the bears were still pretty hungry, and they were on the search for food before hibernating. All they found on our back porch was some grease and a 24-pack of water bottles, and they made a mess of both! The threesome was back for the next few nights, bumping around and looking for a snack. It s been a couple weeks since we ve seen them now. Please continue praying, as we still need people to step up as winter caretakers for January and February. We are eager to get back into Juneau, reconnect with people, and fulfill the winter ministry we are passionate about. If you know anyone who might be interested, in care taking, please have them get in touch with us for more information! *Praise God for bringing a couple to stay at camp while all the staff are traveling for meetings! Continue to pray for provision of camp care-takers for January and February. Sympathy to: Ezalee Newman in the death of her sister, Stella Bartley Bob & Jane Young in the death of Bob s brother, Bill Young of Ashville. *On November 17th, Ashley will be having a laparoscopy in Seattle. Please pray that this procedure will give us answers and pain relief. *Pray for safety and good health through our many travels in the coming month, and that we make the most of every opportunity and interaction.
