Records were created by various persons who held the positions of treasurer and secretary for the organization. 1

Access and Use Acquisition Information and Provenance: The Episcopal Diocese of NH Women s Auxiliary records were purchased by the New Hampshire Historical Society in 2012. When offered these records by the NH Historical Society, the NH Episcopal Diocese expressed no interest in them. Processing Information: This collection was processed by Suzanne Huggard in November 2012. The finding aid was written by Suzanne Huggard in November 2012, and revised by Rebecca Enman in January 2013. This finding aid follows the standards set-forth by Describing Archives: A Content Standard. Access Restrictions: This collection is open for research use. Location: The collection is housed at the New Hampshire Historical Society in Concord, New Hampshire. Physical Characteristics and Technical Requirements: Smaller books in the collection are worn, but not fragile. The large leather bound Memory Book binding is in poor condition. The Episcopal Diocese of NH Women s Auxiliary was a statewide organization, affiliated with the National Episcopal Church. The organization s focus was missions work, charitable outreach, and providing a social structure for female members of local churches. Information available from the NH Episcopal Diocese contains no mention of the Women s Auxiliary, and it is unknown whether the organization existed after 1963. A notation in the large Memory Book references an organizational meeting date of 1888. Collection Scope and Content Collection Scope and Content Note: The Episcopal Diocese of NH Women s Auxiliary records consist of miscellaneous loose leaf papers, typed and hand written, including letters of resignation, one page from the Book of Memory, 1963, an additional list of deceased in Keene, NH, and a schedule of financial expectations, 1961; minutes of Executive Board meetings, 1936-1951; five ledger books of Treasurer s records, 1917-1942; one Memory Book, consisting of a yearly listing of deceased members by parish, 1929-1963.
