GOOD MORNING FAMILY..thoughts from DAVID As you already know, we are living in an interesting time for technological advancements. We often talk about the blessings and curses of these advancements. But, truth be told, we wonder how we survived all these years without cell phones, satellite TV, and the Internet. We, at DeKalb Christian Church, have embraced much of the new technology. We are getting ready to take one more step in that direction concerning our monthly newsletter. We want to let you know what we are planning and what you may need to do to prepare for it. So, here it goes... Beginning January 2017, you w ill be able to find the new sletter on our website by going to www.dekalbchristian.org and scrolling to the bottom of the home page and click on the link. Then you can print it out...if you want. We know that this move may raise some questions. So, let's address them. How will I know the new newsletter is available? We w ill send you an email to let you know it is available on the website. In order for us to do that, we need to make sure we have a correct email address for you. Please email Linda at dekalbchristian@bbwi.net with your name and the word "newsletter" in the subject line. You will receive a reply that simply says, "OK." This way we will have your correct address and you will know we received it. What if I don't have email or internet? You w ill still be able to receive the newsletter just like you do now. Just let us know that you would still like to receive a copy in the mail. Either way, email or post office, we need to hear from you so we can know if you want to continue receiving it. Why are we doing this? This w ill help us save time and money. We figure that we will be able to save upward to $750 a year by doing this. It doesn't sound like much, but that is how much we had budgeted for Vacation Bible School this year. We want to be the best stewards we can be for the King. If you have any further questions, feel free to talk to Linda and/or David and we will do our best to give you an answer. In the meantime... Keep Looking Up! David Jordan PAGE 2

Why did my son have to die in Kuwait? A mother asked President Lyndon Johnson.. Why did my son have to die in Vietnam? A mother asked President Harry Truman.. Why did my son have to die in Korea? A mother asked President Franklin Roosevelt.. Why did my son have to die on Iwo Jima? Another mother asked President Woodrow Wilson.. Why did my son have to die on a battlefield in France? Yet another mother asked President Abraham Lincoln.. Why did my son have to die at Gettysburg? And yet another mother asked President George Washington.. Why did my son have to die on a frozen field near Valley Forge? Then long, long ago, a mother asked.. Why did my SON have to die on a cross outside of Jerusalem? The answer is always the same..
