FUNDRAISING NIGHTMARE. Mindset: SCARCITY PRIDE ---FEAR---
FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF THE GOSPEL, FUNDRAISING IS NOT A RESPONSE TO A CRISIS. IT IS A WAY OF ANNOUNCING OUR VISION AND INVITING OTHER PEOPLE INTO OUR MISSION VISION GIVES US COURAGE TO SPEAK WHEN WE MIGHT WANT TO REMAIN SILENT. Fundraising is A Ministry Unless we treat It otherwise. THE SPIRITUALITY OF FUNDRAISING BY HENRI NOUWEN
FUNDRAISING AS A MINISTRY? The chance to impact people for the Kingdom starts now! Time for a paradigm shift first Pride/self-sufficiency ME Advocate/Invitation to the Great Commission WE I got this WE got this
God is looking for people through whom HE can do the impossible. What a pity that we plan only the things we can do by ourselves. PARADIGM SHIFT A.W. Tozer If you can do it all by yourself, you don t need God.
But you don t understand MY situation
Hebrews slaves in Exodus 11-12: GO, ASK the enemy...? Now the LORD had said to Moses, Tell the people that men and women alike are to ask their neighbors for articles of silver and gold. Ex 11:1 RESULTS: FUNDRAISING AND MULTIPLYING: GOD S IDEA #1 I don t have anyone who will support me The LORD made the Egyptians favorably disposed toward the people, and Moses himself was highly regarded in Egypt by Pharaoh s officials and by the people and they gave them what they asked for. Ex 12: 16 They were loaded!
REBUILDING JERUSALEM #2 My family s not Christian. Nehemiah ASKED boldly of the pagan King of Babylon for supplies. RESULTS: And because the gracious hand of my God was on me, #2 the king granted my requests. Neh 1: 8 My church is too big, too small, doesn t get it.
Why would we ask the poor, the non-christian? (SO RUDE, RIGHT? Elijah and the widow: 1 Kings 17: 7-24 If we don't invite them to participate, they will miss out on the blessing. #3 My is going thru a tough time right now. OR NOT)
FEEDING 5000 AND 4000 MARK 6 AND 8 #4 I m broke! Jesus: You feed them (YOU can do it) Disciples: But that would take 8 months wages.. (Respectfully..art Thou crazy?) Jesus: What do you have? (What DO you have??) Disciples: 5 loaves, 2 fishes (nothing worth counting-embarrassing) RESULTS: Jesus: He prayed a blessing and then multiplied until everyone was full and 12 basketfuls of leftovers.
JUST GO Jesus and disciples, Take 2: Luke 9: 3, 6 Go out and take nothing for the journey. No staff, no bag, no bread, no money, No extra tunic. RESULTS: So they set out and went to from village to village, preaching the gospel and healing people everywhere.
THIS ISN T ABOUT YOU- TEAM EFFORT, TEAM SACRIFICE Starting the first Church: Acts 2:44-47 All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to everyone as he had need. RESULTS: And the Lord added to their number daily.
Fundraising Is The First Lesson Of Faith Journey Our job: Total humility, obedience/effort, sacrifice trust and dependence God: -never left them hanging -provides/multiplies more than all we ask or imagine -gets all the glory-ephesians 3:20 Independence and self-sufficiency are Western values

You will be enriched in every way SO THAT you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else. 2 Corinthians 9:10-13 NIV Fundraisin Either we choose to believe His promises or we don t.
