Psalms 5:3

Prayers for Carmel Christian School *God s guidance in all aspects of CCS *Families/Teachers/Staff God s peace and blessing during this time of transition and much change *Administration/Board Wisdom in decisions for school *Needs of School: Head of School Elementary School Principal High School Principal Director of Fine Arts Various teachers & coaches Funding for remainder of building debt *Lord would our campus embody the fruits of Your Holy Spirit. Would You be developing and maturing love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control in all those that walk our campus. Help them to live by the Spirit and keep in step with the Spirit. (Gal 5:22-25) *Pray God s peace and safety over our school. Plead the blood of Jesus over CCS and declare it is safe in the name of Jesus. (Proverbs 18:10) *Declare that the Lord is our school s refuge. He is their God and their trustworthy place of safety. God shields them from attacks and threats. He will rescue them from every trap, protect them from deadly disease, and make sure no evil overtakes them. The angels protect them wherever they go. (Psalm 91:1-11) *Pray that all on this campus be filled with the knowledge of God s will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that they may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. That they be strengthened with all power according to His glorious might so that they may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified them to share in the inheritance of His holy people in the kingdom of light (Col 1:9-12). *We thank You Lord that those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. (Isaiah 40:31)

*Thank you, Lord, that You will do immeasurably more on this campus than all we could ask or imagine, according to Your power that is at work within us. (Eph. 3:20) *Declare that Christian teachers, administrators, and parents will be fervent intercessors for students and that they will pray that students hearts, minds, and spirits will be opened to knowledge, wisdom, and understanding that comes from God so their minds are conformed to the mind of Christ and His purpose will be fulfilled. () *Lord, we pray You would pour water on this thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; and that You would pour out Your Spirit and Your blessing on this school and the students. (Isaiah 44:3) *Lord, You said You would bless Your people and their surroundings. That You will send down showers in season; there will be showers of blessing. I pray Your blessing on this school and all that surrounds it. Send down showers of blessing today. (Ezekiel 34:26) *Lord, bless this school; may Your face shine upon the students and teachers and be gracious to them; may You turn Your face toward this school and bring peace. (Numbers 6:24-26) *Lord, give all the leaders and decision makers of CCS Your wisdom. By wisdom CCS is built and by understanding it is established. (Prov. 24:3) Would the Spirit of the Lord rest on those decision makers the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord (Isaiah 11:2). Give them wisdom and knowledge, that they may lead this campus, for who is able to govern this great people of Yours? (2 Chron. 1:10) *Pray for those screening and hiring that they recruit effective teachers, staff and administrators with integrity and a true heart for teaching children at CCS and we ask that the Lord of the harvest, therefore to send out workers into His harvest field at CCS. (Matt 9:38)

Prayers for Students and Parents For Students: *Lord, our biggest heart s desire and prayer is that all the students on this campus might be saved. (Romans 10:1) We pray that the lost students of CCS will surrender to Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior of their lives. Show them their lostness and their need of Jesus. Have mercy on them and save them through Your Son, Jesus Christ (John 3:1-16; John 6:44; Matthew 11:28). *Father, we ask for a powerful and deep work of the Holy Spirit among the students of CCS. We plead that He will do a powerful and gracious work in their hearts. Holy Spirit, release Your power in this school and meet the particular spiritual needs of the students (John 16:7-11; 2 Chronicles 7:14; Psalm 42:1-2). *We pray for the students that when they open their mouths they will boldly and fearlessly proclaim the mystery of the gospel to the lost students on this campus. (Ephesians 6:18,19) Pray students will have the fortitude when tested to prove God s will in and through their lives. (Romans 12:1 2) *Pray God will bring into position student leaders within student bodies, who are like Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego filled with wisdom and understanding because they know their God and understand the principles of His kingdom. (Daniel 1:3-6) *Lord, help the students on this campus not to fall into the temptation of the enemy. (Matthew 26:41) Declare that our students are mature and not led astray by ungodly philosophies and teachings that are contrary to the truth of the Word of God. (Ephesians 4:14) Pray for students to separate themselves from the world and the things of the world: the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye, and the pride of life. We declare their bodies, souls and spirits shall not be contaminated by corrupt influences, they will not engage in immoral behavior, and they will conduct themselves honorably as children of the King. (I John 2:16; Romans 13:13) *Declare and decree that our students will grow like Jesus in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man. (Luke 2:52) *Pray for God to increase the capacity of our children to learn, comprehend and excel in all areas of their education: English, reading, mathematics, science, social studies, foreign languages, all other content areas and all required testing. (Daniel 1:17) Declare that students will apply their hearts to instruction and their ears to words of knowledge. (Proverbs 23:12) Father, we plead that the students of CCS will have a hunger for learning. Enable them to use their ability to think and learn (Genesis 1:28; 1 Samuel 2:10; Job 12:13). *Father, we ask that the students of CCS will develop healthy relationships with others. Teach them how to relate to others with compassion, respect, and understanding. Bond them together in the unity of Christ. Set them free from developing unhealthy relationships with the opposite sex (Exodus 20:12-17; Leviticus 19:18; Matthew 22:39; Ephesians 4:32).

*We pray that the students of CCS will have good relationships with the teachers and the administration. Grant that the students will have respect for their teachers and the administration that are in authority over them. Let their strong, working relationships among these groups (Romans 13:1, 7; 1 Peter 2:13-14). *Father, we pray in the name of Jesus that Satan s schemes for the students of Carmel Christian will be destroyed. We plead that he will be bound and that he will not work powerfully among the students. Render his malicious and destructive plans totally ineffective (1 Peter 5:8-9; ). For Parents: *Father, we plead in the name of Jesus that any unsaved parents at Carmel Christian would surrender their lives to Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. We ask that the Holy Spirit would convict them and draw them to Jesus in faith and repentance (John 3:15-18, 6:44). *Father, give the parents of Carmel Christian a burden concerning the seriousness of their responsibility. I ask that they will recognize their staggering responsibility and will respond with diligence and determination in raising their children (Psalm 127:3-5). Jesus, we pray that You would bless the parents at CCS with the strength and power to cope with the pressure and demands of raising a child. Grant them wisdom to raise their children. Pour out on them the patience and persistence in the face of the needs and problems of their children. Bless them with what they need to carry out this rigorous and demanding responsibility (2 Samuel 22:3; Psalm 18:1). *Pray that parents will be active teachers in their children s lives; training their children in the way they should go, and when they are old they will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6) Pray that fathers will be involved in their children s lives in a positive way and not anger their children, but raise them properly, teaching them and instructing them about the Lord. (Ephesians 6:4) *Father, we ask that the parents of CCS children would exercise discipline at home. We ask that they will determine in their hearts to love and discipline their children. Grant them the wisdom, patience, insight, and love to do this (Proverbs 22:15). *Pray that parents will have all of the resources necessary to properly provide for their children so that they can grow physically, academically and socially. God shall supply all their needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19) *We pray that Jesus would grant good working relationships between the parents and the teachers of CCS. We pray the parents would have respect and support for the teachers and the administration (Romans 13:1). *Father, grant the CCS parents a spirit of prayer for the administrators, teachers, and students here. We plead that they will cover and saturate Carmel Christian with prayer (Colossians 4:2). *God, we ask that you would provide financially for our new facility. That parents would give generously as your word says give and it will be given to them. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over. (Luke 6:38). We pray that parents would understand that where their treasure is, there is their heart. (Matt. 6:21) We pray that parents would not set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. We pray that parents are generous and ready to share, storing up treasure in heaven, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life. (1 Tim. 6:17-19, Matt. 6:20)

Prayers for Teachers and Staff *Father, we ask that the teachers and staff of Carmel Christian would exercise a powerful and righteous influence at CCS. Empower them to live holy lives and minister to the students and other teachers (Proverbs 28:1; Matthew 5:13-16). We declare that teachers, staff, volunteers, and all who come into contact with students will positively influence and encourage them in ways leading to righteous living. (Proverbs 1:5) *We pray teachers will teach with godly wisdom. (James 3:7) Pray that teachers concepts of God are sound and grounded in truth so they may be able to dispel myths that are perpetuated through false doctrine. (2 Timothy 3:14 4:4) Jesus, grant the teachers of CCS with a heart for truth. We pray that they would love truth and then teach it to the students. Deliver them from false and foolish ideologies. Let them set the example of seeking after and learning truth (Proverbs 22:17; John 18:38). *Pray teachers will be free to teach truth, which results in students being set free. (John 8:32) Pray teachers will be free to teach students to fear the LORD, which is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One, which brings understanding. (Proverbs 9:10) Pray they will remain faithful to teaching based on the knowledge of truth that they have learned from Scripture. (II Timothy 4:1-2) *Jesus, bless the teachers and staff at CCS with the wisdom to know how to teach the students and how to deal with them. Grant them the wisdom that they need to train, encourage, and discipline the students (Proverbs 2:6; James 1:5). Allow them to know how to deal with problem students. Grant them the wisdom, insight, and compassion to help these students (Proverbs 22:15). *Pray God s favor for our educators so they are able to instruct, admonish, and equip their students with all they need to fulfill their God-given purposes. (Proverbs 1:2-4) *Father, provide the CCS teachers and staff with the wisdom, insight, and compassion that they need to deal with the parents of the students (Matthew 22:39-40). *Father, we plead that the teachers and staff of Carmel Christian would be strengthened to cope with the pressure and demands of their lives. Pour out Your grace and kindness on them. Bless them in every aspect of their lives physically, spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and financially (2 Samuel 22:3; Psalm 18:1, 73:26; Isaiah 40:29; Jeremiah 16:19). Bless the personal lives of the CCS teachers and staff. Bless them with good and perfect gifts. Help them with their personal problems and struggles (Psalm 103:1-5; James 1:17).

*Jesus, protect the teachers and staff at CCS from discouragement. Empower them to excel in the face of discouraging situations. Grant them a spirit of perseverance in spite of the problems (Philippians 4:13). Bless the teachers at CCS with a spirit of prayer. Enable them to saturate their work and their students with prayer on a daily basis (Colossians 4:2). *We pray that teachers and staff will be patient and careful when giving instructions. Those who interact with our students will operate with the fruit of the Spirit, demonstrating love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. (Galatians 5:22-23) *We pray teachers will teach their students how to demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God. (2 Corinthians 10:3 5) *We ask that our teachers and staff will be disciple makers patterned after Christ. (Matthew 28:19) *Jesus, we pray that the teachers and staff at CCS would be unified. They would have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart and a humble mind. (1 Peter 3:8) That they would walk in a manner worthy of the calling of the Lord with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. (Eph. 4:1-3)

Prayers for Administration and the CCS Board Please pray for these people by name: Jay Hancock Interim Head of School Carmel Christian School Board: Dennis Kilcoin, Chairman Ben Bash Beth Brown Chad Bryant Doug Guth Dan Hilton Eric Fletcher Patrick McCrory, Elder Liaison Amy Taylor Andrew Riebe Stephanie Spies Erik Swanson *Pray God will position godly administrators and teachers at CCS. (Psalm 75:6) Pray for administration to be led with wisdom and heart. (I Kings 4:29) *Pray for the standard of excellence to be upheld in our school and that our educators will pass on that spirit of excellence, requiring excellence. (Ecclesiastes 2:13-14) *Pray for the needed tools and proper facilities to teach our children. (Philippians 4:19) *Pray for the selection of godly leaders on our school boards and in the administration of our schools. (1 Timothy 2:1) Pray that they would be pure in their conduct. Pray that their motives would be pure, not mixed. Pray that their minds would be pure, not distracted. Pray that their counsel would be pure and not lead others into sin, and that they would be wise in deciding whom to empower to represent CCS as fellow leaders. Pray that they would lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and be free to run with endurance the race that is set before them.(1tim 3:2, Titus 1:6-7, 2 Cor. 7:11, Phil. 4:8, 1 Tim 5:22, Heb. 12:1) Pray that the leaders would have enough confidence in God to trust his will and ways, and play their part in his plan with patience and gentleness. *Pray for those in charge of the screening and hiring of teachers, and pray that they recruit effective teachers with integrity and a true heart for teaching children at our school. We ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore to send out workers into His harvest field at CCS. We pray there would be an abundance of excellent teachers desiring to serve at CCS. (Matthew 9:38) Ask God to rise up godly educators who are dedicated to their field and can capture the hearts and minds of our students on each level of education. (Colossians 1:9-10)

*We pray that CCS will have good leaders that are good listeners. Jesus give them Your wisdom from above that teaches a leader that he emphatically does not know it all, and desperately needs the help and insight of colleagues, staff, and parents, and even his critics, to gain fresh perspective and continue to learn as he s leading. Jesus, let them be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger. (James 1:9) May they be open to reason and easily persuaded by good sense, argument and rationale. *Pray the school board and administrative leaders will desire to please God and not their own selfish desires. (Romans 1:21 27) Declare administrators will operate with integrity. School board members and leaders will make decisions with students best interests at heart. (Proverbs 11:3) *Pray that the leaders of CCS will call to the Lord and He will answer them and tell them great and unsearchable things. (Jer. 33:3) *Ask God to assign intercessors to pray specifically for school leaders on a regular basis. (1 Timothy 2:2) *Lord, we pray for the protection of all those in leadership. We pray You are their refuge and fortress as they put their trust in You. We ask you to guard them with your angels in all their ways. (Ps. 91) Just as Nehemiah was rebuilding the wall, the leaders are working to rebuild the school with the multiple positions that need to be filled. God, we ask that You are our guard, set as a protection against anything that would come against the rebuilding of CCS. (Neh. 4:9)
