PACK A BACKPACK FOR CHILDREN! The Philoptohos Society will be collecting NEW backpacks for homeless children who pass through the Los Angeles Mission. On Sunday, July 31 after liturgy, join us in the Maniatakos Ballroom for lunch. Your admission price into the luncheon will be one NEW backpack (or more if you want) - OR a monetary donation for the Mission. You may purchase backpacks for boys or girls, from Kindergarten through college age. A different choice, instead of a backpack, would be to donate items to put into the backpacks, such as Kleenex packages, notebook paper, pencils or pens. (Please NO markers). Imagine the circumstances for children living on the streets, in abandoned buildings or alleys. Getting up every day and trying to focus on school is hard enough, let alone for someone who has no bed to sleep in, little food and struggling every day just to stay alive. If you have any questions, please contact Virginia Noyes at Ginoyes@aol.com. EVERYONE IS WELCOME! No donation is too small! We hope to see you at the luncheon!! FOUNDATION RESIDENCE There is a 2 bedroom apartment available. If interested, please call the church s office at 323-737-2424 and leave a message. 10
