In Christ, all races meet, their ancient feuds forgetting, The whole round world complete, from sunrise to its setting: When Christ is known as Lord, all shall forsake their fear. Amen.

PLEDGE FOR MISSIONS! Everyone, young and old, is encouraged to pledge toward the monthly mission collection for our missionaries and causes around the world. Whether you are 5 or 50 or 95, and feel called to pledge 5 cents to $500 each month for the next year toward our mission causes, each pledge is welcomed. It is called a faith pledge because you make it in reliance that is a sensible goal that God will provide you the means to fulfill. We will collect the mission pledge slips both today at lunch and in the offering next Sunday, but you may also place them anytime during October in the Mission Committee s mailbox. Extra slips are at the information desk. Today MISSIONS DINNER: Everyone is invited to join the Mission Outreach Committee at 11:30 in the fellowship hall to hear Dr. Carl Bosma, former missionary in Brazil. A pork loin dinner will be served at 12:05. The program takes the place of our adult and youth education classes, so that they may also join to hear the good news. A freewill offering will support the Global Gifts program. WOMEN S BIBLE STUDY: Join us on Wednesday, October 8, 9:30 AM, as we study Revelation 2, led by Pastor Rebecca. Study sheets are on the information desk. CANCER SUPPORT GROUP will meet on Wednesday, October 8 at 4:00 PM in the Conference room. CARING FRIENDS NEEDED: The privilege of CARING FRIENDS is to come alongside of others whose lives are burdened or the present journey is difficult or seems too much. A CARING FRIEND visits, listens, encourages, prays. You are never present to "fix" a situation but to show that as a member of the Community of Faith one cares and loves as Jesus does. Currently our group is small and the need for more Friends is urgent. We meet once a month - October, November, December, March, April, and May - to share with each other, encourage each other and for continued education. Men, women, old, and young, prayerfully consider being a CARING FRIEND. This ministry is a means to "carry each others burdens" and share in Calvin Church's community of faith. Please contact Gert and Hans Bokhout, pastor Doug or pastor Bob.

BOOK DISCUSSION GROUP: Join us in reading and discussing A Grace Disguised by Jerry Sittser. We'll meet at Calvin Church at 6:30 PM on four Sundays in November: the 2 nd, 9 th, 16 th, and 23 rd. Sign up at the information desk, and Pastor Rebecca will get you a copy of the book. ADVANCE NOTICE: Dinners 4 Eight will be Saturday, November 8. Please mark your calendar. REQUESTED ANNOUNCEMENTS Micah Center event: Ever wonder what it would be like to be caught up in a payday loan? Or how it would feel to get free from one? Following the testimonies, Pastor Dallas Lenear, chair of our Fair Lending Advocacy Group, will share the Micah Center's multi-pronged approached for ending predatory lending in our area.
