Please send prayers to tntt.mdb@gmail.com Imagine you're running away from something and it's finally catching up. You've been running from it your whole life, terrified of what it would bring. It now reaches you, and you realize what it is. It's growing up. But then you look at your surroundings and you see that you're not alone; there are many people around you dealing with the same problem. That's what ĐAMAS 17 Cấp 1 feels like. From meeting new people to studying until late night with those same people you just met for an exam you've been all waiting for. Cấp 1 was a spiritual yet physical journey testing your faith and your mentality. You meet the next part of your journey of faith head-on. You thought you were alone this whole time, but realize that you've never been by yourself. That was the Cấp 1 experience for me. Patrick Nguyễn, Đoàn TMT, NY My experience at ĐAMAS 17 Cấp 1 in Buffalo, NY on August 18 th through the 21 st, 2016 was such an incredible experience. Throughout the training my faith with God became stronger each day. I m usually not easily inspired, but this training camp made me to a whole new level with God. I felt so holy and that I was with people that felt like family. It was such a blessing and a calling from God to attend ĐAMAS XVII. After the end of camp, I felt so good and wonderful about myself and my faith with God. I feel like God in me and God everywhere I go. The feeling that you have God by your side is the most wonderful and grateful feeling ever. I am ready to serve the kids at my Đoàn to help them to be the best and to grow stronger in their faith. Thank you so much ĐAMAS XVII for blessing me with such an incredible experience and wonderful people of love and friendship. Kaitlyn Lê, Đoàn Giuse, NY To be honest, I had zero expectations coming into this camp. I thought that Cấp 1 was just going to be another camp but with some lessons

Well, was I wrong because ĐAMAS 17 was an incredible experience that I will never forget. First of all, coming from a different Miền, I was able to meet entirely new people that I would have otherwise never met since I am a Miền Trung native. So on top of meeting new faces, I was able to experience what Miền Đông Bắc is all about when it comes to camping. All the lessons and games and băng reo and songs that we learned really surprised me on how much material Ban Huấn Luyện know, so it was humbling that I was able to learn from them. Also, I was able to observe what being a Huynh Trưởng is really about. Having huge amounts of enthusiasm in every task they do but at the same time getting down to business when it is time to get serious. Seeing these Huynh Trưởng in action really inspired me to do my best to be a great Huynh Trưởng for my Đoàn. The Journey of Faith and other tasks like the quizzes and Lửa Thiêng also taught me a few lessons on being a Huynh Trưởng. Overall, the experience and knowledge I gained from ĐAMAS 17 easily outweighed the struggles and obstacles I faced there, and I am very grateful that I was able to attend this camp. Khang Phạm, Đoàn Anrê Trần Anh Dũng, Detroit, MI ĐAMAS 17 was an amazing experience. At first, I was not so excited to go because I felt like I wasn't 100% ready academically. I thought this camp was going to be a strict training boot camp. Turns out, I was wrong. I had so much fun while learning at the same time. I felt like we all grew as a big family together Ân Lê, Đoàn TMT, NY CHIA SẺ SA MẠC HUẤN LUYỆN HT CẤP 2 ĐAMAS 18 REFLECTIONS FROM ĐAMAS 18 My first ĐAMAS experience was when I was training to become a Huynh Trưởng. The worrying about learning all my prayers, songs, nghiêm tập along with Phong Trào was really stressful back then. Now two years later, after successfully becoming a Huynh Trưởng and going onto HT Cấp 2, I was still stressing out about those materials! But in all honesty, it was worth the stressing out because it shows how important it is to know the foundation of Thiếu Nhi. ĐAMAS 18 is my favorite because I got to meet many HLV from across the country. They were all so knowledgeable and inspiring, teaching us the many important aspects of how to teach and run things smoothly within our Đoàn. I learned so much from each HLV, and cannot express my gratitude enough. Another reason I enjoyed this camp was that we had many MĐN visitors, connecting and learning about each other and what each Miền/Đoàn does is very interesting and useful to each one of us. Through Christ, I am blessed that I am a part of this wonderful organization where our main focus is to build children s faith and spread the word of God for those who are willing to hear. I hope that as a Huynh Trưởng, I am fulfilling my mission. Tr. Theresa Vũ, Đoàn Saviô, MA 2
3 Here, you are at an unfamiliar place. You feel scared and nervous seeing unrecognizable faces around you. Finally, you get the courage to say hi, while they say hi back with a big smile. The first day of ĐAMAS 18 reminds me of my first few days of being an Ấu Nhi. Simple enough, all I had to do was say hi to make lifelong friends. ĐAMAS 18 became only better from there. The next few days of ĐAMAS 18, I learned the tricks and secrets of how to become a better Ấu Nhi Ngành Trưởng; treasure box, calling sticks, and Ice Cream every 3 months is Okay! (Quoting a HLV). The point of every camp training is to take what you learned from camp and bring it back to your đoàn. Taking what you learned from camp, you educate your fellow peers and youths on how to become a better person with Christ. So the next time I want to complain that my Ấu Nhi's are too much to handle, I will be reminded of my Miền Đông Nam friends. Tr. Nhung Huỳnh, Đoàn Têrêsa, CT Thanks, Lord, for giving me another chance to come back to TNTT from last July, 2015. Some of my friend asked me: You are old now, why you want to be in Thiếu Nhi Thánh Thể again? I answered: Because I love the fun to be a member of TNTT with many activities, retreats, and camping, and I can learn how to improve my spiritual life. I also would like to learn how to help younger people to have the same fun as what I am enjoying very much! With the encouragement of our chaplain priest, Father Trần Peter, from Our Lady of Vietnam parish, Tr. Lê Minh Triết, from Ban Nghiên Huấn TU/PT/TNTT/Canada, and other parents, we grasped the chance to register for our training with ĐAMAS 17 and 18, because it is so close to our Hamilton city in Ontario, Canada (just about 2 hr 15 min drive away). We struggled through those first taste of online lessons, pre-camp assignment (Bài Tiền Sa Mạc) and tried our best to finish them on time to be able to get in Sa Mạc ĐAMAS 17 & 18. So it was great news when we learned that we had got accepted into camp. On August 18 th, 2016, we started our driving trip to camp Duffield with excitement mixed with a lot of worrying. We tried to learn more prayers and songs of Phong Trào TNTT in the car, reciting by reading out loud to each other. I myself was wishing that the drive would be hours longer,
4 so that we can have more time to drill into our head what's required at camp. We finally arrived at camp after about 2 hours of driving Thursday night was not too bad for starters like us; we started to join our team, say hello, and make new friends On Friday morning, we were running for gatherings, practicing formations, and Chào Cờ. Then we got our at-camp admission tests which worried me the most. But then I realized the great thing was that we can get these tests done together with our team hurray team work!!! We celebrated Mass together every day. Father Joseph Phạm Ngọc Thi, the camp spiritual director, gave us a big boost with his youthful energy in his homily during every Mass. We love Tr. Nguyễn Thanh Trang with all her songs, movement, and especially her workshop about Ấu Nhi, which was so interesting and helped us learn a lot about how to help Ấu Nhi. We also learn so much from other workshops by Tr. Phạm Evan (Eucharist Adoration for Ấu Nhi), Tr. Lê Minh Triết (Phương Pháp Hàng Đội and Disease(s) That A HT Need To Avoid), Tr. Nguyễn Thiên Anh (Lửa Thiêng Thánh Thể), Tr. Têrêsa (Activity Program for Ấu Nhi Lesson Plan), Tr. Lâm Jimmy (Ấu Nhi Psychology), and Tr. Louis Huỳnh Ngọc Trung (Spiritual Bouquet). We enjoyed working together in our team on games, songs, Journey of Faith, and Lửa Thiêng Thánh Thể The most touching moments were our time in front of Jesus Christ during Adoration, with His Presence in the Eucharist, thinking about His Humility and Suffering because of His Love for each one of us. We can feel His Love and His Heart inviting us to come closer to Him, to help Him by bettering ourselves daily with His graces in order to help our youths, so that others can also realize His Greatest Unconditional Love for each one of us. We want to say many thanks Fr. Joseph Nguyễn Ngọc Thi, all the Huấn Luyện Viên, Huynh Trưởng, and the kitchen team who all sacrificed their time to teach and feed us during Sa Mạc. The workshops and meals were great because of their hard work. To sum up, we pray to Jesus Christ to grant us many graces that each of the Sa Mạc attendees go back home with a large fire of love in our hearts, to live and practice daily Eucharistic Living, so that our hearts will be joyful and courage to be His witness of love in our world today. Amen. Tr. Thịnh Hoàng, Hamilton, Canada
