Sunday School MEMORY WORK GUIDELINES for FIFTH GRADERS 1. ALL memory work for Sunday School must be recited to a 5th Grade Sunday School teacher. SUNDAY SCHOOL VERSES CANNOT BE RECITED TO A PARENT! 2. The verses in this book are from various versions. If you prefer for your child to learn the verses in the KJV, they may do so. It will count toward their trophy. 3. Memory work CANNOT be recited over the phone. 4. To enhance the connection between the memory verse and the lesson, we encourage each 5th grader to stay on schedule and not move ahead. 5. A trophy will be given to all children who complete the Sunday School memory work for the months of September through June. ALL memory work must be completed by the end of June, 2016. 6. KEEP IN MIND: ALL 5th Graders who have completed 1st-5th Grade memory work will receive a Bible engraved with their name and signed by our Pastor. Parents, we encourage you to work with your child at home to ensure that your child understands each verse. God s Gift of Salvation A= Admit you are a sinner. For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23) B = Believe Jesus died on the cross to rescue you from sin. God invites you to believe on the Lord Jesus and you will be saved. (Acts16:31) C = Call on Jesus. Here is God s promise to you: Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. (Romans 10:13) God wants you to receive His free gift of salvation. To receive Jesus as Savior, pray: Dear God, I know I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus died for me to pay for my sins. I trust You to forgive me and give me the free gift of eternal life. I will depend on You to get me to Heaven. Amen. FEBRUARY Bible Theme: We can make a positive difference in the world by acting as salt and light. You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Proverbs 3:5-6 5TH MARCH Bible Theme: Jesus is the Son of God who gives us everything we need to grow in our relationship with God. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world. 1 John 4:14 And Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. John 6:35 9) I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. 11) I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. John 10:9 & 11 Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
