Hebrews 5:13-14 Anyone who lives on milk, still being an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish between good and evil. A: I can grow spiritually by listening to my pastor. 1 Timothy 1:13-14 What you heard from me, keep as the patter of sound teaching, with faith and love in Christ Jesus. Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us. A: By being baptized a picture of my relationship with Christ. Romans 6:4-5 We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. If we have been united with Him like this in His death, we will certainly also be united with Him in His resurrection. Honor one another above yourselves. 1 Peter 2:17 Show proper respect to everyone: love the brotherhood of believers, fear God, honor the king. A: A good friend shows loyalty to others. Proverbs 19:4 Wealth brings many friends, but a poor man s friends deserts him. Proverbs 20:6 Many a man claims to have unfailing love, but a faithful man who can find? Proverbs 12:19 Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue lasts only a moment. Proverbs 19:22 What a man desires is unfailing love; better to be poor than a liar. Book Four DISCOVERY 6 A: A good friend forgives others. 1 Peter 3:8-9 Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble. Do not repay evil with evil, or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. A: A good friend prays for others. 2 Thessalonians 1:11 With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may count you worthy of His calling, and that by His power He may fulfill every good purpose of yours and very act prompted by your faith. Book Four DISCOVERY 7 A: Hell is a place of eternal punishment. Revelation 20:15 If anyone s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. Review: Ephesians 4:29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. A: Heaven is a place of eternal reward. Philippians 3:20 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ. Review: Psalm 133:1 How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity! A: Heaven is a perfect and joyful home. Revelation 7:16 Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat upon the, nor any scorching heat. Review: Romans 1:16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: First for the Jew, then for the Gentile. A: Our bodies will be different in heaven. 1 Corinthians 15:51-52 Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed. Book Four DISCOVERY 8 A: God will judge unbelievers at the great white throne judgment. Revelation 20:11 Than I saw a great white throne and Him who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from His presence, and there was no place for them. Review: 1 Peter 2:17 Show proper respect to everyone: love the brotherhood of believers, fear God, honor the king. A: Believers will be rewarded for their faithful service for Christ. 1 Corinthians 9:25 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. A: God knows the future. Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Review: Romans 12:10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.
