The Page Turners conversation gathering last Sunday was lively and interesting. Our next book will be, Becoming Wise: An Inquiry into the Mystery and Art of Living, by Krista Tippett. Krista is a person who listens for a living and this book chronicles some of what she has learned. The voices she listens to are some of her conversation companions who appear in her popular and award-winning NPR radio program, On Being. Krista has also authored the bestselling book, Speaking of Faith, and Einstein s God. The conversation gathering for this book will be Sunday, February 18, at 3:00 p.m. in the Parlor. Prayer Concerns: We pray for health concerns for Sam Brandt, John Grace, Greg Hartman, Judy Jurell, Paul Miller, Roy Summers, Elvin Wagner, and Art Zellers. Children & Youth! Live Out Loud (4th - 7th grade): Thursdays, 3:00-5:00 p.m., in the Youth room. Young Adult ski trip: January 27, Big Boulder & Jack Frost Ski Resort. Donation of snacks and baked goods are needed again each week for Live Out Loud, our weekly 4th-7th grade youth gathering, beginning on January 4. There are slips of paper, each with a different date marked on it on the window sill under the side balcony. Pick a date you can donate and place the half with your name on it in the basket keep the other half as a reminder. Attention Parents: There is a change of schedule during Worship beginning February 4, children (other than nursery) will remain with their parents until the conclusion of the children s message at which time they will be dismissed for childcare. A Film-Tastic Fundraiser: During the months of January and February the youth will be distributing empty film canisters (35 mm) to anyone willing to help out the youth fund. If you take one, all you need to do is fill it with quarters and return it. Baskets of empty canisters will be placed at the entrances of the sanctuary. Baskets for returning filled canisters will be placed on a window sill under the side balcony. This is a simple and easy way to contribute to the ministry of the youth in this congregation.
