"In whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins..." - Colossians 1:14 Dear friend, are you burdened with the weight of a guilty heart? Like a galley lost at sea and slapped by the invincible waves that surround it, you feel the sting of sorrow and regret as the waves of past foolishness and stupidity flood your mind. You wish that you could run from your past and rid yourself of all the wrong things that you have done, but you cannot. The stain of your mistakes has imprinted your psyche like a hidden tattoo. If there were something you could do to remove the guilt that drowns your heart, you would do it. The riptide of your past has channeled you in on every side, and your vain attempts at swimming out or being rescued have left you hopeless. The blackness of sorrow has left your heart without hope, but there is a Light that shines in a dark place, dear reader. There is a Hope that cannot be defeated. There is Way that cannot be eroded. Yes, the dark clouds of guilt and shame can be transformed into brilliant days of hope! There is redemption! There is forgiveness through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ! Jesus Christ stands as the SAVIOR upon the billows of rage and sorrow that have engulfed your blackened heart. The waves of guilt that mount up to heaven and crash down upon your tiny soul are no match for the Savior of the world. By His invincible might, He can pull you out of the whirlpool of despair that is plunging your soul into the abyss of hopelessness. 1
Jesus Christ is the LIGHT OF THE WORLD: "Then spoke Jesus again to them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life" - John 8:12 Jesus Christ is the SAVIOR OF ALL MEN: "For therefore we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those that believe" - 1 Timothy 4:10 Jesus Christ WILL SAVE YOU: "For the Son of Man is come to seek and to save that which was lost" - Luke 19:10 He will save you from the guilt and eternal consequences of your foolish, regrettable behavior known as sin. The wages of sin is death: "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord" - Romans 6:23 The guilt you feel in your soul is the result of the sins that you have committed against Christ Jesus. If you are not forgiven, then you are at this present time sentenced to eternal damnation in hellfire: Mark 9:43-48 "43 And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: 44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. 2
45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: 46 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. 47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire: 48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched." You can escape hell if you will repent (change your mind) and believe the Good News - the Gospel of Jesus Christ: 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 "3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:" Acts 3:19 "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord." Call upon the Lord Jesus Christ: Romans 10:9-13 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 3
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. The LORD is gracious: Psalm 145:8-9 "The LORD is gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger, and full of mercy. The LORD is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works." The LORD God of Israel loves you: John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life." Romans 5:8 "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." You can be saved. You can have eternal life. 4
You can have a relationship with God. You can have your sins forgiven. God bless you. 5
