Dear Members, we are very sorry to inform you the sad demise of our revered leader and President of the Chandigarh Circle Pensioners' Association, Sh. K.K. Puri on 8th of May, 2016, after brief illness. This is a great loss to all the members in general and the circle association in the particular. Sh. Puri was a very lively personality having too much experience and commanding respect among all the members of the Circle Pensioners' Association. He served this association for the last 12 years and was a great guide for all of us. I had the privilege to work with him for almost same period. HIs participation in the circle association's meetings as well in the Federations meeting were always noteworthy. While attending the outstation meetings of the Federation, Sh. Puri was always a smiling figure and very jolly when we used to sit together after the meetings. This vacuum cannot be filled, but the Almighty has his own ways. The "Rasam Kriya" of Sh. Puri was held on 11th May, 2016 in which large number of persons attended the same. Besides his respected family members, a large number of our Association's members were also present thereat. Couple of top executives of the Bank (Retd.) and many retired trade union leaders/office bearers were also present Sh. K.K. Puri (22.09.1937-08.05.2016) 1 to pay their respect to the departed soul. To name a few, S/Sh. V.K. Gupta (Retd. D.M.D.), A.P.N. Pankaj (Retd. General Manager) and many other senior retired officers. Sarv Shri Jai Ram Gupta, Suresh Mehra, M.K. Virmani, H.S. Saggu, P.B. Walia, Vinay Mehra and many more retired office bearers of various associations of the Bank, attended the prayer/ rasam kriya of Sh. Puri. I was very deeply touched with the services rendered by S/Sh. H.M. Mahajan and Lokesh Ahuja (our members) to Sh. Puri, almost daily, during his illness and stood by Sh. Puri's family till his unfortunate demise. As stated above, it shows the tall personality and his goodwill whether in his entire service in the Bank or his services rendered to the pensioners cause, which is highly appreciated by one and all of us. NEW C.D.O. (DY. GENERAL MANAGER) TAKES OVER Sh. Deepak Rai Selhi, Dy. General Manager (C.D.O.) retired on 30.04.2016. A team of local office-bearers of the Pensioners' Association at Chandigarh met Sh. Selhi and conveyed our best wishes to him for his peaceful, healthy and long life. Sh. Selhi had joined at L.H.O. as D.G.M. & C.D.O. on 21.08.2014 till his retirement i.e. 30.04.2016. During the last two structured meetings, we had healthy discussions on our Agenda. He was always helpful with a positive approach. Before joining at L.H.O., Sh. Selhi was Dy. General Manager at Zonal Office, Punjab, Chandigarh. S/Sh. T.R. Gupta and S.K. Negi has already reached thereat from Shimla and meeting started at about 11.30 a.m. which was attended by about 35 members. On Mongia, Organising Secretary & Sh. Tek Chand, Asstt. Treasurer of the Circle Association participated in the meeting at Sundarnagar. A function of Innovative Banking was arranged by our Mandi and Sundernagar units at Mandi. Our these two units by collecting money from their own pockets, donated four stratures for the benefit of patients of the Zonal Govt. Hospital, Mandi (H.P.). The office bearers from Chandigarh Circle Association had the honour of donating/handing over the stratures to the CMO of Mandi Hospital alongwith the local office bearers of our Mandi this occasion, the seniormost pensioner Sh. Bachhitar Singh was honoured with a Shawl by the Chandigarh Circle Association. The meeting was organised in a very nice manner and addressed by Sh. U.S. Negi, Sh. T.R. Gupta and others. The meeting ended with a vote of thanks by Sh. K.K. Sharma, which was followed by a lunch with traditional meals of the Himachal Pradesh. (Surgery), M.C.H. (Urology) from Goel Kidney Care & Laparoscopy Hospital, Jalandhar. Dr. Goel is also trained and qualified in Renal Transplantation and Laparoscopic interventions. As you know, our pensioners colleagues, who are all above the age of 60 years and face many old age problems. Dr. Goel explained the cause of the above mentioned diseases. He made a very impressive power of modules in a very elaborte manner to the satisfaction of all the queries raised by the present members thereat. About 85 members were present in the captioned camp/meeting. Sh. Raj Kumar Gupta, President of the unit and our module Vice President Sh. Y.P. Suri proposed a vote of thanks and meeting ended over a cup of tea and snacks.
