MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR To the members of the Canadian Anglican Cursillo family: CACS had a wonderful meeting in Halifax where we received a warm welcome and generous hospitality. It was Victoria Henrikson s last meeting as past Chair. We will miss her laughter and input at our meetings. She was a wonderful Chair and has been totally supportive whenever I call to ask for information or advice. Thank you Victoria, on behalf the Canadian Cursillo Movement. Some of the great joy of Cursillo comes from the close ties we form with each other. It may begin on a Weekend when we meet people from across our diocese and find ourselves opening our hearts to others, sharing our thoughts, experiences, and faith. We discover things about others we would never know without this Cursillo connection. We sometimes assume that a person who seems so successful and happy must live a perfect life and then they stand to speak and we find that, just like us, they have had things to overcome. Some life stories are truly heart wrenching and we are honoured to be entrusted with them. It takes courage and trust to lay your life bare, to share your pain and struggles with others. It also leads to a bond between the speaker and the listener. The bond brings with it openness, honesty, compassion, understanding and more. Paul wrote to the churches in Colosse and Laodicea, I want them to be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love. I want them to have complete confidence that they understand God s mysterious plan, which is Christ himself. In Him lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Colossians 2:2-3 I want that for us too. Ultreya, Carol Rooster Tales Canadian Anglican Cursillo Secretariat Newsletter (www.anglicancursillo.com) Page 6 of 8
