And Jessica also stated: Jobs for Life helped me become confident. Also, Chasity our 16 year old is getting a job start on career training by talking the jobs for life course. It has given her more confidence on her public speaking abilities and accomplished another graduation milestone. Two of our ladies are now enrolled in an 18 month financial responsibility course. They will receive rental assistance and they are enrolled in the savings match program, this will help them succeed as they move into independent living. For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. T H A N K F U L! parenting CLASSES at TRAVAIL Proverbs 22:6 - Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. The Bible tells us to train our children so that in their future, when they are adults, they will reap the benefits of our training; and have a solid foundation. For a lot of us, probably most of us, at some time or another, it is hard to know exactly how to carry out our jobs as Parents. I am honored to be presenting a series of Parenting classes for the women of Travail. We are learning biblically-based parenting skills, based on the Boundaries With Kids, text written by Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend. This God and Bible-centered text, explains why kids need boundaries, provides 10 boundary principles kids need to know, and how these boundaries should be implemented. Throughout the classes, we are seeing how the Bible provides wisdom and instruction for all of the parenting issues we face with kids. How reassuring it is to know, that God, Our Father, provided key parenting instructions throughout the Bible for us. The women at Travail house are a joy to work with each week as we learn and discuss Christian principles for parenting. " 2
T R A I N I N G & A C T I V I T I E S TRAVAIL EXPERIENCE WRITTEN BY; RHONDA Beaubouef I am exceedingly happy to be a part of the transformation of lives that I have come to know at the Travail House. With the true love and compassion taught by Jesus, the Director, Rhonda Altazin, pours out her time, talents, resources, and PRAYERS, to help the women in this House. The women of the House work hard each day to better their situations, with their children, their jobs, obtaining work, going to school, going to church and studying God s Word. Some of the women are doing all these things at the same time, while they also recover from their own histories and afflictions. I see these women love the Lord, love their children, work hard and consistently try to better themselves for their families. They are busy, yet kind, have a sense of humor, and always put Jesus first in their lives. While they have real needs themselves, they are still out serving others doing outreaches for the hungry and homeless. I am impressed by the courage and resilience of the women at Travail. I am humbled to meet them and their children. I wish the women of Travail success in all their endeavors, and sincerely want to help them in any way I can. Philippians 2:4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. From hospital to classroom Jessica McGraw came out of hospital disliking math a lot, and not good at it. The Lord restored her and have her a new foundation on him. She will be finishing her GED, the first week of November. And she is now tutoring other students in math PRAISE GOD! We do what we can do and God will do the rest. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Psalm 23:3 "3
T R A V A I L B A N Q U E T & S I L E N T A U C T I O N STEPHANIE & MIA COMEBACK Nothing we do for for the Lord is vain (use scripture) Stephanie and her daughter Mia left Travail in January but Stephanie soon realized that she needed Jesus as her foundation of her entire life and the lord our God brought Stephanie and Mia back to Travail. We serve an awesome God! Who is God of second chances. For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 3:11 FAREWELL MICHELLE & KIDS Michelle moved back to Florida and now has all 3 of her kids together, for the first time. Kylie-4 and Aryana-3, started school. Their big sister Alexis, is excited to be with her mom and sisters. fall FEST 2016 bethany mid city HAPPY FALL Y ALL We handed out BETHANY FALL FEST invitations of Saturday 10/29/16. women S conference T R A I N I N G & A C T I V I T I E S oct. 7-8. Hemingbough, LA Women s conference at Hemingbough, La. was a very spirit filled experience. The first night there was worship under the covering of beautiful skies; the sound of electric guitars, the keyboard, and drums delivered harmony and music from the soul. The following day, the speakers delivered powerful yet simple truths from the bible on how to do spiritual warfare as well as words of encouragement Travail House thoroughly enjoyed the conference. Thank you Mr. Donald and Monica Goree for inviting us! The ladies and kids learned lots and enjoyed the outdoors (God s creation) so very much! We will be back next year! TUNICA HILLS Travail house at clark CREEK Tunica Falls at Clark Creek Park was just a great start for the Fall season. The weather was perfect for hiking and sightseeing. Travail House loved being able to get away out of town into the wilderness. Clark Creek was the perfect spot. The kids enjoyed exploring the surroundings: collecting rocks, bugs, and checking out the terrain. Adults enjoyed the fresh air, the view, and a great opportunity to exercise! Two of our ladies knocked out the trail in two hours! Thank you Ms. Rhonda for bringing us into this unforgettable adventure! Here some pictures that trulls explain more than words can do.
