The aim of the conference is to provide both empirical and personal insights into the changing nature of religion in society and to further the debate for both policy-makers and academics to consider these evolving challenges within the future development of faith tourism and pilgrimage. This year, once your paper is accepted you will be invited to submit an extended abstract (c.2,000 words), which must be submitted in advance of the event and will be available (digitally) to participants before the conference. This will add significantly to the depth of discussion and participation at our event. Lo cation of Conference The conference will be held at Casa dei Padri, a guest house situated in Armeno, a small town close to Orta Lake. Orta Lake lies to the west of Lake Maggiore, in North West Italy. It is a minor star in the constellation of the subalpine lakes, but all the fascination and the history of the larger lakes seem to be concentrated in this small space. Casa dei Padri was the historic residence of Oblates of Saint Joseph, and has been recently restructured within a project called Innovation into Tradition. The project aims at making Casa dei Padri a hub for cultural and training activities on issues related to local development and culture promotion. The conference premises are strategically located 50 km from Milan and from Milano Malpensa Airport.
