It has been an incredible year here at the National Day of Prayer Task Force. In this 2014 Impact Report, we want to share with you just a glimpse of what God has done through this ministry as a result of your support and there is still much to be done. This past May we witnessed the largest day of prayer in U.S. History with over 43,000 prayer gatherings taking place from coast to coast. More than 250,000 people participated in the National Observance, watching live in 90 countries. In addition, our team launched a second Pray for America Bus Tour, where we mobilized prayer groups in 15 key cities concluding the tour in Hollywood, California for a 5-day solemn assembly. We trust that Christ will equip us to spread His powerful message of hope to others as they see the difference faith makes in our lives. Millions of people are experiencing moral fatigue and confusion and are yearning for leaders who will rebuild our society on compassion, decency, authenticity, and character. As these individuals look for answers and leadership that will provide help for their families, communities, and nation, many may realize for the first time their need for spiritual guidance. And we have the privilege of pointing them to the Source of all wisdom and power, their Heavenly Father. What an exciting moment in history to be involved in calling America to repentance and prayer! I believe God has established and blessed the National Day of Prayer for such a time as this. With these things in mind, our theme for 2015, Lord, Hear Our Cry (based upon I Kings 8:28, Hear the cry and the prayer that your servant is praying in your presence this day ), conveys a powerful reminder to us that only in contrite humility before Him will we see the change we are crying out for. God stands ready to refine us as gold for His glory, and prayer provides the impetus for change! In the words of E.M. Bounds, How vast are the possibilities of prayer! How wide its reach! It lays its hand on Almighty God and moves Him to do what He would not do if prayer was not offered. As we strive to further the cause of prayer, we are thankful for the many ways in which God has provided for our ministry and allowed us to expand our efforts. As we rejoice in what has been accomplished and look expectantly to the future, may I ask you to prayerfully consider partnering with us financially in this ministry to our nation? An Annual National Day of Prayer Legacy of Our Nation s Leaders Despite our diverse Throughout the history of this great country, those who have come to our backgrounds, ethnicity, shores have expressed gratitude for the opportunity to openly worship according to their individual conscience. Our continued unity as a nation is directly dependent upon our willingness to join together as one nation under God, petitioning the Almighty for His blessing upon us. Uniting in prayer will strengthen the ties that bind us together as Americans, and collectively appropriate the benefits promised by our Creator to those who humbly seek Him. In order to reaffirm this nation s reliance upon the God of the universe, we encourage all Americans to gather in prayer and thanksgiving on her behalf. In so doing, we realize the promise found in Scripture: If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Pray For America Bus Tour Raising National Awareness Over the last twenty-four months, the National Day of Prayer Task Force has launched a multi-year strategy to engage, equip, and encourage prayer for our nation, by mobilizing strategic, intentional prayer into seven key centers of influence. Hollywood Summons Raising National Awareness The National Day of Prayer Task Force joined forces with the Hollywood Prayer Network to mobilize God s people to pray in one of the media epicenters of the world Hollywood, California and it was a powerful time of intercession. On October 1-5, more than 250 ministry leaders, church representatives, industry professionals, and prayer warriors rallied through studio lots, production facilities, and other key locations in solemn assembly. Another 2,600 people participated online through LiveStream video feeds. Media executives, producers, actors, musicians, and those working in one of the most influential industries in our nation united in one voice to pray for the Arts, Media, and Entertainment seeking God for transformation. What transpired was a memorable experience that the Hollywood Prayer Network has called the best and most encouraging week the HPN community has had in Hollywood in the past 33 years! To ensure this focused prayer movement continues, every attendee was charged to continue in steadfast prayer, equipped with resources and connected with professionals in the industry to serve as intercessors. We believe this is only the beginning of what God is doing to mobilize His people to stand in the gap. I was never more aware of the presence of God on the CBS lot as I was during our closing dinner. 2014 National Day of Prayer Impact Report Centers of Influence Since prayer is at the bottom of all this, what I want mostly is for men to pray not shaking angry fists at enemies but raising holy hands to God. ~ I Timothy 2:8, The Message Raising National Awareness In 2014, our focus was on Media and Entertainment and in 2015, our focus is on Education. The National Day of Prayer Task Force is already at work to mobilize intercession for educators, students, curriculum developers, universities, schools, and more. With your help, together we will watch God begin to radically re-align education in America. It has been 52 years since prayer was forbidden in schools and the results have dramatically impacted our nation. We have moved far from the founding principles that were the baseline for the New England Primer in 1688 and it is time to seek God so that generations not yet born may know the Lord (Psalm 78:6, 102:18). Join us as we unite in prayer for EDUCATION. Praying for these Centers of Influence will help us stay focused and intentional in our daily prayers.
