Good Friday Way of the Cross The Sacred Heart Youth Group will be doing the live Stations of the Cross at 3:00 pm on Good Friday. Let us all join them walking remembering the path His way to the Crucifixion! Stations of the cross will be held outside the Church (if weather permits)! Holy Thursday Adoration Right after the Mass, the Eucharist will be transferred to the temporary Tabernacle. From that time onwards we will have the Adoration until mid-night, if we have at least two people be there always! So please sign up to make sure there will be enough people! Sign-up sheet is places at the back of the church. Thank you to all! Holy Thursday Washing of the Feet During the Holy Thursday Mass, throughout the whole catholic church, the leader of the community will be washing the feet of it s members imitating what Jesus did! We will have washing of the feet this year too! So we need at least 12 volunteers to come forward to have their feet washed! During the Mass, right after the homily, please take your seat to have your feet washed! May you be all blessed with the gift of humility and the willingness to serve others with love!! High School Oratory Contest Sponsored by TN Right to Life The Lawrence County Chapter, Tennessee Right to Life in conjunction with the Tennessee Right to Life and the National Right to Life Committee announce their Annual Oratory Contest for High School Students grades 9-12. This event involves researching, writing, and presenting a prolife speech on a topic relating to one of the human life issues, abortion, infanticide, euthanasia, or stem cell research. A panel of judges will listen and judge each contestant based on preparation, content and presentation. The local contest will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the Sacred Heart School, 220 Berger St. Lawrenceburg, TN. Anyone interested in entering the contest must apply by Wednesday, April 11, 2018. The local contestants will compete for a 1 st place prize of $100 cash plus $50 for travel expenses to the State contest, and 2 nd place prize of $50. The local winner will advance to the State competition held in Nashville on Saturday, April 28, 2018, with the opportunity to compete for prizes of $750 and paid expenses to the National contest, $500, $300, and $200. From there, a winner will be selected to compete at the National competition held in Kansas on June 30th during the National Right to Life Convention with the opportunity to win prizes of $1,000, $750, $500, and $250. Students who participate will benefit in several important ways from involvement in the oratory contest. In addition to developing public speaking and leadership ability, students will practice research and writing skills, learn more about critical current issues and enjoy an opportunity to educate others. Contestants are encouraged to memorize their speeches at the local level; however, speeches are required to be memorized for the State level.
