ABSTINENCE - Prohibits us from eating meat on a particular day. Everyone age 14 and older is obliged to abstain. Medical reasons can exempt. GOOD FRIDAY are days of FASTING AND ABSTINENCE FROM MEAT. Backes of Pleasant Valley, you might be interested in an Informational Meeting he is planning at St. Stan s on Sunday afternoon, March 12 at 1pm. Feel free to invite others to join you and bring your questions. One of the major questions that many ask is Will we be safe? How safe is it to go to the Holy Land? Deacon George Albin of St. Gregory s in Garnerville will be addressing that topic. Before his Ordination, Deacon George was a Chief of Police for the Port Authority Police Dept. and also a member of the NYC Joint Terrorism Task Force and has seen the security there on his three trips to the Holy Land - twice as a pilgrim and once as a guest of the Israeli Security Forces. His answer is, very simply, YES and he will explain why. Call St. Stan s for directions. Camp Veritas is a one week play & pray sleep away summer camp for teens going into 7th to 12th grades.
