For God so loved the world that He gave... Jesus
It was love that inspired God to give everything. He looked upon the world that He had made, saw our worth, saw our need, and made a way from death to new life. In doing so, He provided the ultimate example for us to follow. 2
Sweeping across North Africa, through the Middle East, and across Asia, is a region of the world with very little opportunity to hear of or experience Jesus and His Kingdom. This region, roughly bounded by the 10th and 40th degrees north lines of latitude, is often referred to as the 10/40 Window and is known to have: 80% of the world s poorest people; the least political, economic and religious freedom; the highest concentration of Muslims, Hindus and Buddhists; and the least opportunity to hear the Gospel through witnessing churches or missionaries, given that less than 1% of the global income of all Christians is being spent on mission in the region. (Taken from Exploring World Mission by Bryant Myers) This year, with a heart of worship toward Jesus and generosity toward people that He loves, we will focus our giving toward the work of the Kingdom in this region of God s world. Continue to remember those in prison as The Persecuted Church if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering. Hebrews 13:3 Voice of the Martyrs makes it their mission to serve the persecuted church through practical and spiritual assistance while leading Christians in the free world into fellowship with them. This year, we will come alongside the families of martyrs and prisoners in restricted nations, providing for their needs while they and their loved ones endure suffering for their commitment to Christ. $50, $100 or $250 assists families of persecuted believers www.persecution.com 4
Syrians in Crisis Syria has become the great tragedy of this century a disgraceful humanitarian calamity with suffering and displacement unparalleled in recent history, said the UN High Commissioner for Refugees. It is estimated that over 6 million Syrians have fled their homes with little more than the clothes on their backs.* Near East Initiatives (NEI) has drawn together 20 churches and organizations in a collaborative effort to bring love and relief aid to Syrian refugees. Through this effective partnership, more than 500 families a month are provided with food and winterization items. Along with the physical relief, Lebanese believers spend time offering love and a listening ear to these displaced families, giving them something that cannot be quantified: God s hope and comfort. Most of the refugees are Sunni Muslims, and they are amazed at the love that followers of Jesus are showing them. www.neareastinitiatives.org *worldnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/09/03/20293184-thegreat-tragedy-of-this-century-more-than-2-million-refugeesforced-out-of-syria?litet Redistribute 2013 5
Church Planting in Northern India and Nepal It is estimated that less than 3% of the population of Nepal is Christian, while regions of northern India claim less than 1%. ServLife International partners with local churches and believers to encourage and support the growth of the church throughout Northern India and Nepal. Through Bible and leadership training and financial sponsorship, ServLife comes alongside indigenous believers so that the name of Jesus would be known and worshipped throughout the region, and local fellowships would be established in places where there are currently none. $50 sponsors a pastor for a month $120 sends a pastor to the annual pastors conference $500 trains a new church planter www.servlife.org 6
Hope for Cambodia Slavery exists in our world. At age 15, freedom was being taken from Sopea. An agreement brokered by her uncle would have sentenced her to a life of servitude and risk - a life signed away by a thumbprint signature.
