Tracks and Session Speakers Track 1 Essentials Track Track Leader Taught personally by Pastor Steve Gladen, author of Small Groups with Purpose and Leading Small Groups with Purpose, and founder of the Small Group Network. This track will help every church understand and apply critical aspects of an exponential small group ministry, one that is growing spiritually healthy and connecting everyone in the church into biblical small group community. Sessions: These seven sessions will take you through Discovering the Essentials for your small group ministry and Discovering your Purpose for the ministry. Each session is filled with examples, diagrams, charts and other illustrations to guide you through the principles that have launched exponential small group ministries around the world. Speaker bio: Steve Gladen has led the small group ministry at Saddleback Church for the past 17 years. He holds a BA in Biblical Studies from Evangel University and a Masters of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary. Throughout his ministry, and in churches of varying denominations and sizes, Gladen has successfully implemented the small group strategy in youth ministry, singles ministry and overall church structures. Gladen does consulting and speaks around the world, championing small groups and teaching what it means to have small groups with purpose. He is the author of Small Groups with Purpose and Leading Small Groups with Purpose, and is the author or co-author of numerous small group materials and leader tools. He's also been on staff at Long Hollow Baptist Church in Nashville, Tennesee, and Grace Community Church, a church plant. He is the author of Starting Small: The Ultimate Small Group Blueprint, as well as frequent articles and blog posts on the subject of small groups and community. He is a prolific writer and also serves as the director of communication for the Small Group Network. Reed is a graduate of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Dr. Bill Donahue, Ph.D., is a popular conference speaker, prolific author and leadership consultant. Bill has leadership experience in both the for-profit and non-profit arena. After working for P&G in New York and PNC Corp. in Philadelphia, Donahue was Director of Leader Development & Group Life for the Willow Creek Church & Association where he created leadership strategies and events for over 10,000 leaders on 6 continents in over 30 countries. He holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Princeton University, a master's degree from Dallas Seminary and a Ph.D. in Adult Learning and Development from the University of North Texas. He serves as an adjunct teacher at a number of graduate schools training both Masters and Doctoral students in organizational strategy, team-building, leadership development and transformational community. In addition to the best-selling, Leading Life-changing Small Groups, Bill developed the DVD training resource ReGroup with Henry Cloud and John Townsend. Partnering with Steve Gladen he released Building Biblical Community for churches in January, 2011. He also co-authored Coaching Life-Changing Leaders with Greg Bowman, and has partnered with Russ Robinson to create a number of resources for strategic leadership. Bill's newest work is a collaborative effort with Les Parrott called Small Group Insights, an online assessment and learning tool for building authentic relationships in any group or team. Joe Windham is the Small Groups Pastor at Harvest Church in Billings, Montana. With over 23 years of experience in small group ministry, he is a respected small group innovator, pastor, and bible teacher with a passion for cultivating vibrant small group communities. Windham provides leadership and resourcing to churches that are part of the Northwest Region in the Small Group Network, and also provides consulting to lead small group ministries through creative innovation and collaborative efforts. His latest creative work has been on simplifying small group campaigns with a strategy that includes three phases for raising up new small group leaders, effectively training each new small group leader, and connecting group seekers into

new small groups. In addition, Windham authors articles on small group ministry and has been a speaker or session leader in previous Twelve Conferences. Ron Edmondson is pastor of the historic Immanuel Baptist Church in Lexington, Kentucky. Ron is a church leadership consultant passionate about planting churches and helping established churches thrive. In his ministry, he assists pastors and those in ministry think through leadership, strategy and life. Prior to ministry, Ron had over 20 years of business experience, mostly as a self-employed business owner. Ron is an INTJ personality on the Myers Briggs indicator, which means he has big ideas, loves creative and critical thinking and loves to see progress. Since he is usually around people, he craves down time and is usually training for either a half or full marathon. John Morgan is the President of Brand Against the Machine, a company that specializes in personal and corporate branding and online marketing and helps entrepreneurs position themselves as leading authorities to their target market. John has worked with companies in more than 300 industries, including Fortune 500 companies and Hollywood celebrities. He regularly speaks to audiences ranging from 50 to 3,000 people and has been featured on FastCompany.com and MSNBC, among others. John has been called "a force to be reckoned with when it comes to branding". His consulting services are used by some of the largest brands in the world. John is an in-demand public speaker who's known for delivering excellent content in a straight-to-the-point way. He is the author of Brand Against the Machine: How to Build Your Brand, Cut Through the Marketing Noise, and Stand Out from the Competition. Jason Williams is a Campus Pastor at Chase Oaks Church in Plano, Texas. For five years prior he led the small groups ministry at this growing, multi-site church in the greater Dallas area. As a natural preparation for the ministry, Williams holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Wake Forest University and a MBA from the University of Texas, Dallas. A native Alabamian, Heather Zempel currently leads the discipleship efforts at National Community Church in Washington, DC where she oversees small groups, directs leadership development training, and serves on the weekend teaching team. Heather followed a circuitous route into full-time ministry. Having obtained bachelor s and master s degrees in biological engineering from Louisiana State University (Geaux Tigers!), she worked as an environmental engineer and as a policy consultant on energy and environment in the United States Senate before coming on staff at National Community Church. Using her educational background, Heather now can be found exploring environments that foster spiritual growth. She lives on Capitol Hill where she can be found enjoying theater with her husband Ryan, searching out the best barbeque joints, and nerding out on church history. Heather is the author of Sacred Roads, Community is Messy, and Amazed and Confused. Karla Renfro has been responsible for Growth Groups, Outreach, & Women's Care ministries at EastLake Church in Chula Vista, California for the last five years. She has been on staff at EastLake in a variety of roles since 2005. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Biola University. Track 3 Next Level Small Groups

He has experience as a deacon, elder, college pastor, associate pastor, teaching pastor, senior pastor, church planter, and church consultant. Rick has authored or coauthored multiple books, studies, and leader training resources including A Different Kind of Tribe: Embracing the New Small Group Dynamic, Destination Community: Small Group Ministry Manual, The Gospel and the Truth: Living the Message of Jesus, Small Group Life Ministry Manual: A New Approach to Small Groups, Redeeming the Tears: a Journey Through Grief and Loss, Small Group Life: Kingdom, Small Group Kickoff Retreat: Experiential Training for Small Group Leaders, Great Beginnings: Your First Small Group Study, Disciples Path: A Practical Guide to Disciple Making, and Countdown: Launching and Leading Transformational Groups. Rick s varied ministry experiences as an collegiate minister, small group pastor, teaching pastor, elder, full-time trainer and church consultant, as well as having been a successful church planter gives him a perspective of church life that is all-encompassing and multi-dimensional. Rick is a highly sought after communicator and trainer.

Anthony Miller is a church marketing trailblazer. He s a passionate leader that serves the local church and empowers other church leaders how they can use biblical marketing principles to reach one more for Jesus. After spending years in the marketplace, Anthony pursed his calling of fulltime ministry as the Marketing and Communication Director for the Rock Church in San Diego, CA. His leadership helped the Rock grow from 5,500 weekly to nearly 13,000 in six years. Today, he serves as the Pastor of Marketing and Communications at Saddleback Church, which has 14 campuses around the world. Mark Snowden leads Snowden Ministries International and also serves as Evangelism/Discipleship Strategist for the Missouri Baptist Convention. Mark s ministry has largely been in Southern Baptist Convention roles serving the International Mission Board, North American Mission Board, and Kentucky Baptist Convention. He was a training consultant to Saddleback Church s PEACE Plan. Mark wrote Truth That Sticks with the late Avery T. Willis, Jr. He leads TruthSticks Training workshops, which are orality workshops for small groups, writes Bible studies for small groups that use Bible Storying, and trains churches to start small groups that multiply. He holds a Masters of Science from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, and a Bachelors of Science degree from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky. He has studied at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, and at Georgetown College in Georgetown, Kentucky. John Harbour is an elder at King s Church High Wycombe in the UK with particular responsibility for Welcome, Integration and Small Groups. He is married to Suzanne and they have three children aged 10, 8 and 5. Before working full time for the church, he was a primary school teacher. Harbour co-led the initiative to remake small groups at King s Church which brought about a profound change in the application of missional principles in the church and the surrounding community. Eddie Mosley is the GroupLife pastor at LifePoint Church, a multi-site church in Smyrna, Tennessee. He consults and speaks at churches and conferences, including LifeWay and Saddleback events. Mosley is the author of Connecting in Communities: Understanding the Dynamics of Small Groups and has written articles for SmallGroups.com and Lifeway Church Resources. He also serves as area point leader for the Small Group Network, an international network of small group pastors and ministry directors. Boyd Pelley is Co-founder and CEO of Churchteams.com. He served for 18 years as Discipleship Pastor, Church Administrator and Family Pastor for churches in New Mexico, Nebraska and Texas responsible for small groups, discipleship, administration, education and staff supervision. In his many varied roles, he has been actively involved in developing methods of measuring the heart, a challenging and noble pursuit. Pelley has a bachelor's degree in communication from the University of Oklahoma and a master's degree of divinity from Golden Gate Seminary. Craig Etheredge is a gifted communicator, author, and Bible teacher. Craig and his family moved to Colleyville, Texas in July 2007, where he serves as lead pastor of First Baptist Church. In addition to leading the local church, Craig is involved in the local community, serving as the President of the Board of Trustees for Baylor Hospital, Grapevine. He has a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.

Daniel Im is the Church Multiplication Specialist at LifeWay Christian Resources. He's worked in churches ranging from 100 to 50,000 people in Canada and Korea. He finished his MA in Global Leadership from Fuller Theological Seminary and is a scholar-practitioner that loves to not only create theory, but also implement it in an innovative way to solve problems.
