The Ten Commandments - How to Find Eternal Life in Heaven with God and How to Live Your Life with Purpose for Jesus, White Paper PDF The Ten Commandments How to Find Eternal Life in Heaven with God & How to Live Your Life with Purpose for Jesus How to Find Eternal Life in Heaven with God: The Ten Commandments point the way for us to FIND God and have Eternal Life in Heaven with Him. They are the primary teaching in The Bible to show us what we must REPENT from to have Salvation, before we can have a relationship with God. Thus, they show us our desperate need for Jesus Christ (Messiah Yeshua) as our Savior and Lord; because only through His death and shed blood sacrifice on the cross are we forgiven of our sins and can have eternal life in Heaven with God, for those who believe. The beginning of an Eternal Life with God in Heaven, through His Son, Jesus Christ. How to Live Your Life with Purpose for Jesus: The Ten Commandments show us how to Live as a true Disciple of Jesus Christ here on Earth. They are the Words that God SPOKE and commanded us to follow as His people, Living as a Saved and Born Again believer, as a new creature in Jesus Christ (Messiah Yeshua) with the help of the Holy Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh). Remember: Jesus is what being human is all about. Walking out your Salvation, Living for God and being like Jesus. Exodus 20 New American Standard Bible (NASB) The Ten Commandments (Bold, Emphasis added by the author). 20 Then God spoke all these words, saying, 2 I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. 3 You shall have no other gods before Me. (I) 4 You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth. 5 You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me, 6 but showing lovingkindness to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments. (II) 7 You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain. (III) 8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a sabbath of the LORD your God; in it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter, your male or your female servant or your cattle or your sojourner who stays with you. 11 For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day and made it holy. (IV) 12 Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged in the land which the LORD your God gives you. (V) 13 You shall not murder. (VI) 14 You shall not commit adultery. (VII) 15 You shall not steal. (VIII) 16 You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. (IX) 17 You shall not covet your neighbor s house; you shall not covet your neighbor s wife or his male servant or his female servant or his ox or his donkey or anything that belongs to your neighbor. (X) 18 All the people perceived the thunder and the lightning flashes and the sound of the trumpet and the mountain smoking; and when the people saw it, they trembled and stood at a distance. 19 Then they said to Moses, Speak to us yourself and we will listen; but let not God speak to us, or we will die. 20 Moses said to the people, Do not be afraid; for God has come in order to test you, and in order that the fear of Him may remain with you, so that you may not sin. 21 So the people stood at a distance, while Moses approached the thick cloud where God was. 22 Then the LORD said to Moses, Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, You yourselves have seen that I have spoken to you from heaven. 23 You shall not make other gods besides Me; gods of silver or gods of gold, you shall not make for yourselves. 24 You shall make an altar of earth for Me, and you shall sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and your peace offerings, your sheep and your oxen; in every place where I cause My name to be remembered, I will come to you and bless you. 25 If you make an altar of stone for Me, you shall not build it of cut stones, for if you wield your tool on it, you will profane it. 26 And you shall not go up by steps to My altar, so that your nakedness will not be exposed on it. Sin - What is it? 2Sin is "any want of conformity unto or transgression of the law of God" (1 John 3:4; Rom. 4:15), in the inward state and habit of the soul, as well as in the outward conduct of the life, whether by omission or commission (Rom. 6:12-17; 7:5-24). It is "not a mere violation of the law of our constitution, nor of the system of things, but an offense against a personal lawgiver and moral governor who vindicates his law with penalties. The soul that sins is always conscious that his sin is (1) intrinsically vile and polluting, and (2) that it justly deserves punishment, and calls down the righteous wrath of God. Hence sin carries with it two inalienable characters, (1) ill-desert, guilt (reatus); and (2) pollution (macula).", Hodge's Outlines. The moral character of a man's actions is determined by the moral state of his heart. The disposition to sin, or the habit of the soul that leads to the sinful act, is itself also sin (Rom. 6:12-17; Gal. 5:17; James 1:14, 15). Sin is breaking God s Law, not keeping the Words that He Spoke, simply put: Sin is breaking The Ten Commandments. We know this because The Bible, God's Word, (The Holy Scriptures), tells us what sin is. 1 John 3:4 Whosoever commits sin transgresses also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. Repentance - What does it actually mean? 2Repentance There are three Greek words used in the New Testament to denote repentance. (1.) The verb _metamelomai_ is used of a change of mind, such as to produce regret or even remorse on account of sin, but not necessarily a change of heart. This word is used with reference to the repentance of Judas (Matt. 27:3). (2.) Metanoeo, meaning to change one's mind and purpose, as the result of after knowledge. This verb, with (3) the cognate noun _metanoia_, is used of true repentance, a change of mind and purpose and life, to which remission of sin is promised. Evangelical repentance consists of (1) a true sense of one's own guilt and sinfulness; (2) an apprehension of God's mercy in Christ; (3) an actual hatred of sin (Ps. 119:128; Job 42:5, 6; 2 Cor. 7:10) and turning from it to God; and (4) a persistent endeavour after a holy life in a walking with God in the way of his commandments. (Emphasis Added) The true penitent is conscious of guilt (Ps. 51:4, 9), of pollution (51:5, 7, 10), and of helplessness (51:11; 109:21, 22). Thus he apprehends himself to be just what God has always seen him to be and declares him to be. But repentance comprehends not only such a sense of sin, but also an apprehension of mercy, without which there can be no true repentance (Ps. 51:1; 130:4). The Ten Commandments White Paper, by Col. Marko de la Garza Page 3 of 11

The Sinner's Prayer has always been the model for repentance and accepting Jesus Christ into your life, but when we truly turn to God and ask for forgiveness of our sins, we will take the time and search ourselves and ask that the things we have done wrong (our sins) are forgiven and plead the blood of Jesus for the forgiveness of those sins; and Believe in Him and trust in His shed blood sacrifice for the atonement of our sins so we can have Eternal Life in Heaven with God when our time comes. Salvation - What must I do to be Saved? 2Conversion the turning of a sinner to God (Acts 15:3). In a general sense the heathen are said to be "converted" when they abandon heathenism and embrace the Christian faith; and in a more special sense men are converted when, by the influence of divine grace in their souls, their whole life is changed, old things pass away, and all things become new (Acts 26:18). Thus we speak of the conversion of the Philippian jailer (16:19-34), of Paul (9:1-22), of the Ethiopian treasurer (8:26-40), of Cornelius (10), of Lydia (16:13-15), and others. (See REGENERATION) The Bible, God's Word, says you MUST Repent and turn away from your sins; accept Jesus Christ (Messiah Yeshua) as your Lord and Savior, claim and believe in His shed blood sacrifice for the forgiveness of your sins, and be converted - Born Again. You cannot be converted nor have your sins blotted out and if you don t see that you have sinned, Read the Ten Commandments, acknowledge (confess) your sins and repent, cry out and ask for forgiveness and lead a life pleasing to God. Being Born Again, Being A New Creature How can this be possible? 2Regeneration only found in Matt. 19:28 and Titus 3:5. This word literally means a "new birth." The Greek word so rendered (palingenesia) is used by classical writers with reference to the changes produced by the return of spring. In Matt. 19:28 the word is equivalent to the "restitution of all things" (Acts 3:21). In Titus 3:5 it denotes that change of heart elsewhere spoken of as a passing from death to life (1 John 3:14); becoming a new creature in Christ Jesus (2 Cor. 5:17); being born again (John 3:5); a renewal of the mind (Rom. 12:2); a resurrection from the dead (Eph. 2:6); a being quickened (2:1, 5). This change is ascribed to the Holy Spirit. It originates not with man but with God (John 1:12, 13; 1 John 2:29; 5:1, 4). As to the nature of the change, it consists in the implanting of a new principle or disposition in the soul; the impartation of spiritual life to those who are by nature "dead in trespasses and sins." The necessity of such a change is emphatically affirmed in Scripture (John 3:3; Rom. 7:18; 8:7-9; 1 Cor. 2:14; Eph. 2:1; 4:21-24). The Ten Commandments White Paper, by Col. Marko de la Garza Page 4 of 11

Acts 3:19,20 Repent therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord: 20And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached to you: God Has Made a Way! We search for (as we always are searching for God, the piece that is missing from our lives) and purchase expensive programs and how to series on line to learn more about God s Word. We read books on God s Word written by famous modern-day authors and televangelists. We listen to people preaching God s Word on T.V. and at church; but until we truly have a relationship with God through Jesus Christ, and become Born Again and filled with the Holy Spirit we can't truly understand and apply God s Word into our lives, there will be no real or permanent change in us. When we become born again we are concerned with the salvation of others, we bring others to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ (Messiah Yeshua), we hear and obey God's Word, we understand and apply God's Word into our everyday lives. When we truly have a relationship with Messiah Yeshua, there will be true change within ourselves, brought about by the Holy Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh) that will overflow from the inside of us to the outside; then we will be true witnesses for Jesus (Yeshua), then our lives will truly change, then our families can truly change, then our towns will change, then, through God, we can truly change the world just as Jesus (Yeshua) and the Apostles did. The change starts with us and within us and Jesus is the Way. The Ten Commandments played a major part in the lives of Jesus (Yeshua) and the Apostles; as well as in both Jewish and Gentile society, for those who followed Jesus Christ (Messiah Yeshua), as they should for us today. We need to get back to the Hebraic foundational teachings studied and applied in the early Church found in the books of James, Acts and Hebrews to "live out our life in Christ", to walk out our salvation. Most churches and denominations lack the basic foundations and teachings that these Scriptures give us reference to. Because of this lack of foundational teaching, many followers of Jesus (Yeshua) are destroyed, they are being destroyed for a lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6). Part of that destruction is because of the teaching that we are no longer under The Ten Commandments, we are no longer, Under The Law, which in all actuality, no one person was ever under all 613 Laws of Moses. Keeping the Commandments Never brought Salvation, it has always been about the shed blood sacrifice. People then, as now Kept the Commandments because they had Covenant With God and were His People so they followed His Word and lived by The Ten Commandments. The Ten Commandments White Paper, by Col. Marko de la Garza Page 5 of 11

How do we know that we know God? We MUST know Him and have a true relationship with Him through His Son Jesus Christ. 2Justification a forensic term, opposed to condemnation. As regards its nature, it is the judicial act of God, by which he pardons all the sins of those who believe in Christ, and accounts, accepts, and treats them as righteous in the eye of the law, i.e., as conformed to all its demands. In addition to the pardon (q.v.) of sin, justification declares that all the claims of the law are satisfied in respect of the justified. It is the act of a judge and not of a sovereign. The law is not relaxed or set aside, but is declared to be fulfilled in the strictest sense; and so the person justified is declared to be entitled to all the advantages and rewards arising from perfect obedience to the law (Rom. 5:1-10). It proceeds on the imputing or crediting to the believer by God himself of the perfect righteousness, active and passive, of his Representative and Surety, Jesus Christ (Rom. 10:3-9). Justification is not the forgiveness of a man without righteousness, but a declaration that he possesses a righteousness which perfectly and for ever satisfies the law, namely, Christ's righteousness (2 Cor. 5:21; Rom. 4:6-8). The sole condition on which this righteousness is imputed or credited to the believer is faith in or on the Lord Jesus Christ. Faith is called a "condition," not because it possesses any merit, but only because it is the instrument, the only instrument by which the soul appropriates or apprehends Christ and his righteousness (Rom. 1:17; 3:25, 26; 4:20, 22; Phil. 3:8-11; Gal. 2:16). The act of faith which thus secures our justification secures also at the same time our sanctification (q.v.); and thus the doctrine of justification by faith does not lead to licentiousness (Rom. 6:2-7). Good works, while not the ground, are the certain consequence of justification (6:14; 7:6). When we truly Know God and have a relationship with Him, we will keep His Commandments and Live By His Word! 1 John 2:3-7 3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4 He that says, I know him, and keeps not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoso keeps his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. 6 He that said he abides in him ought himself also so to walk, even has he walked. 7 Brethren, I write no new commandment to you, but an old commandment, which you had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which you have heard from the beginning. The Ten Commandments White Paper, by Col. Marko de la Garza Page 6 of 11

Not all of us are Evangelists, but WE are all called to be witnesses for Jesus (Yeshua). We are witnesses in our everyday lives for everyone to see when we follow His Commandments. Read The Bible for Yourself Now please take a moment, relax and think for yourself, use your mind and not your doctrine. God has given you a mind and a heart to know the difference between right and wrong, now, ask yourself the following questions: If we are no longer under The Ten Commandments, is it okay to serve other gods? Is it okay to bear false witness against someone or slander them? Is it okay to commit adultery? Is it okay to steal? No, it s not, and the heart that God has given you bears witness to that. Deep inside we all know the difference between right and wrong; God has placed that on our hearts and in our minds. This is what the Bible; God s Word says it is: Hebrews 10:16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, said the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; READ the Ten Commandments, Repent and Accept Christ Jesus (Messiah Yeshua) to have Salvation and to have a relationship with The One True God, The Lord our God. LIVE according to His Word, The Ten Commandments, and Walk Out that salvation and endure till the end, so shall you be saved and have eternal life. Through Jesus (Yeshua), God has made a way, for both Jew and Gentile to have Salvation then Ever Lasting Life with Him. The Ten Commandments White Paper, by Col. Marko de la Garza Page 7 of 11

True Biblical Prosperity and God's Punishment God s Word promises in many verses that He will bless us for keeping His Commandments; His Word also tells us there are consequences for not following His Commandments. There are many examples of those who lived for God and kept His Word, righteous people who were blessed and many examples of those who followed their own ways and were destroyed. Deuteronomy 29:9 Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that you may prosper in all that you do. IT IS NOT A BURDEN It is not a burden to live by God s Laws; following His 10 Commandments, the way He has told us to live, according to The Bible, His Word. If we all lived according to His Word, which is His Will for our lives and followed The Ten Commandments, we would not have a lot of the problems we currently face in our modern world who has moved on without God and His Laws. There would be true unity in the Body of Christ (Messiah) as well. After all, we must be DOERS of the Word not only hearers! 1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. James 1:22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. The Ten Commandments White Paper, by Col. Marko de la Garza Page 8 of 11

Keeping The Ten Commandments, the Words that God actually Spoke, does not make you a Legalist or Judaizer, it makes you a Disciple and True Follower of the Risen Messiah, Jesus Christ! Keeping The Ten Commandments is the way to Walk out your Salvation according to God s Word, The Bible, which is His Will for His People. God's Word Promises Us Problems (Trials and Tempations) and Solutions God s Word Promises us that there will be trials, temptations and tribulations in our lives, once we give our lives to Jesus (Yeshua). We will be condemned by religious people that hold to the doctrines of man, (false doctrines/teachings), condemnation, just as Jesus and the Apostles were condemned. We will be condemned by the world (the Unsaved) because they don t see a need for the things of God, nor for Salvation only through Jesus Christ (Messiah Yeshua). They are far too busy finding their OWN way to God. Following God s Word will not make you popular. You will have many people come against you, especially since you follow The Ten Commandments. They will call you names like, Judaizer and Legalist, words that the people who are using them don t even know the real, biblical meaning of. Stay in Prayer, Keep Reading and Applying God's Word into your life, find a good church, ask God to fill you with the Holy Spirit, those are some of your solutions. But as the following verse says, he that endures to the end shall be saved. BUT WE MUST DO OUR PART TO RECIEVE THIS REWARD!!! He will NEVER Abandon us nor Forsake us This is a promise from God for us to keep faith in Him and in His Word, when we endure till the end and do not deny Him, we shall be saved. Matthew 10:22 And you shall be hated of all men for my name s sake: but he that endures to the end shall be saved. The Ten Commandments White Paper, by Col. Marko de la Garza Page 9 of 11

The Conclusion of ALL, The Meaning of Life: The Simple Meaning of Life, (that so many seek in so many different religions, doctrines and ways) the answer to the eternal question of: Why are we here? - is to Seek, Find and Serve the Lord our GOD; by having a personal relationship with the One True God, by Salvation only through Jesus Christ, (Messiah Yeshua) His only begotten Son. Only because of His death and shed blood sacrifice can we have salvation and to walk out that salvation by following God s Words for Living Your Life Here on Earth, The Ten Commandments. The words that He Actually Spoke out load for ALL to hear when they were being given in the desert to His people, His Teaching and Instruction written down so many years ago for us on How to Find Eternal Life in Heaven with God and How to Live Your Life Here on Earth, to be like Jesus! Remember: Jesus is what being human is all about! Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
