Gluten Free 1 INTINCTION (8:45 & 11:00) INSTRUCTIONS FOR COMMUNION PREPARATION AND CLEAN- UP I. Items used for communion service a. One ironed white tablecloth: found hanging inside glass- door cabinet outside sanctuary. NOTE: October (World Communion) use the tablecloth with the multi- colored handprints. b. White Paraments (linens hanging from the pulpit & lectern): found hanging in hall cabinet c. Green Pottery (plates & goblets) and Baskets with Linen Napkins: found in kitchen cabinet near the warming trays Plates Goblets Baskets 8:45 1 4 5 11:00 1 6 7 d. Grape Juice e. Bread Rolls (2 rolls one for each service) f. Honey Wheat Round Sandwich Pita Bread: 3-4 packages of will serve both services (1 package yields about 150 pieces of communion bread). It is better to have too much rather than too little! g. Gluten Free Bread (UDI S): 1 loaf (found in frozen section) Gluten Free = GF h. Gluten Free sign i. Metal divider used for choir s basket j. Electric Knife II. Saturday a. Communion Table: move to Sanctuary i. Place the brass cross on the small, square platform above the central flower vase in the chancel. ii. Place the chalice, plate and colored paraments inside glass- door cabinet in hallway outside the sanctuary. b. Paraments: use white linens on the lectern & pulpit c. White Tablecoth on the communion table NOTE: October (World Communion) use the tablecloth with the multi- colored handprints. d. Grape Juice: check for grape juice in refrigerator (to be poured on Sunday) e. Prepare Bread & Rolls: i. Materials needed: knife, 3-4packages of bread, 1 loaf GF, 2 rolls ii. Each individual piece of communion bread should be ½ inch by slightly more than an inch long. Anything smaller will be difficult to handle and will fall apart in goblets when dipped. iii. Place cut communion pieces in labeled bag in refrigerator. iv. Cutting instructions see next pages.
Gluten Free 2 II. Saturday (continued) DIRECTIONS FOR CUTTING BREAD & ROLLS FOR COMMUNION BREAD Use honey bread as the body of Christ should taste sweet. Needed for preparation: Electric knife 4-5 packages of honey wheat bread 2 rolls Bread tends to stick together so separate sandwich halves. Stack individual slices back to front Entire package can be stacked before cutting Cut off sides to help square bread Cut bread as shown Each slice of bread = 9 pieces Each package = 144 pieces ROLLS Cut underside of rolls about ½ way through as pastor will pull roll apart during service.

Gluten Free 5 I. Clean Up (after 8:45 Service) a. Take bread baskets and roll plate to kitchen, refill and return to table for 11:00 service. b. Take any goblets with breadcrumbs floating in juice to kitchen, refill and return to table for 11:00 service. II. Clean Up (after 11:00 Service) a. Take all service items to kitchen. Wash/dry serving pieces and replace in cabinets. b. Hang tablecloth in hall cabinet (if soiled take to church office). c. Return brass chalice, brass plate and brass cross to communion table. d. Replace correct paraments on pulpit and lectern. e. Regular Bread: dispose of bread f.
