MOVEMENT CHURCH 2017 ANNUAL REPORT

A MESSAGE FROM PASTOR PAT LYNCH What a powerful year it has been! We are in awe of what God has accomplished within our church family, as well as in our communities in 2017. The Movement Church Annual Report is an opportunity to communicate those stories in measurable terms. We want to take a moment to thank you for making these inspirational stories possible! ALL ABOUT SUNDAYS At Movement Church, we want to encounter the heart of the Father and curate an environment where people know and can feel that they are loved and they belong. Over 700 people join us weekly to worship the Lord with incredible freedom and excitement. Our family is growing and being transformed in to people who understand what it means to go in to the world and make a difference for Jesus. Sundays also provide time to meet new people, connect with family and friends, pray for and encourage one another. We look forward to where God leads in the year to come. * 1300 ADULTS * * CALL THE MOVEMENT HOME 715 ADULTS ATTEND WEEKLY 575 CHILDREN CALL THE MOVEMENT HOME * 202 CHILDREN ATTEND WEEKLY 295 VOLUNTEERS SERVE ON SUNDAY MORNINGS 31 ADULTS WENT PUBLIC WITH THEIR FAITH 17 CHILDREN WERE DEDICATED TO THE LORD

THE START OF LIVE STREAM We officially launched the online live stream of our Sunday services in May 2017, extending our Sunday morning experience beyond our church walls. The start of our live stream allowed those who couldn t attend services on Sunday morning to worship with us from anywhere in the world, and for church family members who have moved away to stay in touch. Our online viewership reached 34 states and 6 countries in 2017, and will continue to impact viewers outside of our campus and around the world. 68,580 VIEWS OF OUR ONLINE LIVE STREAM 34 STATES ACCESS OUR LIVE STREAM 110 WEEKLY ONLINE VIEWS EACH SUNDAY

I BELONG TO THE FATHER BEFORE ANYWHERE ELSE. - SHERRY ANN GRETH - 2017 was a year of growth and coming into true realization of how God designed me through His love. All I need is relationship and intimacy with Him. I don t need to make myself known. I don t need to exert or prove myself. I just need to be me, the perfect way He designed me. I know that I am not an orphan, but that I belong to the King of kings. That was true before I went anywhere or did anything. Knowing and living in that makes everything else come to fruition. Seek first the Kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you. 2017 became an important part of walking into my destiny as I served and relied on Him, saying, not my will, but Yours be done.

AGES 0-11 KIDS ON THE MOVE Our kids ministry continues to serve the growing families in our church, sharing the love of Jesus with children from nursery through 6th grade. In January of 2017 we launched our benchmarks program in our classrooms, which ensures our kids are taught the Gospel in age appropriate language, and ways they can understand. Last summer we held our first Movement Theatre Camp, which used dance, drama, and music to share the truth of Jesus. It was a huge success and we look forward to our second camp this summer. Kingdom Kids was launched in the fall, a discipleship program for 5-6th graders. Through service, study and mentorship, our students are taking the next steps toward a deeper relationship with Christ. We are thankful for the over 100 volunteers who dedicate their time and talent serving our kids. Our Kids are on the move! * 1308 CHILDREN HEARD ABOUT JESUS 175 NEW FAMILIES VISITED ON SUNDAY MORNINGS 110 VOLUNTEERS SERVE IN KID S MINISTRY * 60 VOLUNTEERS SERVE WEEKLY 50 STUDENTS PERFORMED AT THEATRE CAMP

JUNIOR HIGH + HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT MINISTRIES Our student ministries meet weekly on Wednesday nights for an evening of games, worship, teaching, and small groups. During school breaks, the students continue to pursue fellowship and community with other youth groups from local churches through activites such as Lagoon Nights, Summer Camp and Winter Camp. In 2017, our students and high school worship team also took part in a worship night called Unifed Anthem with 1500 students from churches across North County. It has been amazing watching this young generation step beyond our campus to create community with other churches. During the year, our student worship team also led worship for our Sunday services during Student Takeover, stepping onto a bigger platform as they continue to discover and pursue the call that the Lord has placed in each of them. * 210 STUDENTS PARTICIPATED IN THE MINISTRY * 55 STUDENTS ATTEND WEEKLY 40 STUDENTS ATTENDED SUMMER CAMP 54 STUDENTS ATTENDED WINTER CAMP 16 LEADERS VOLUNTEER EVERY WEEK

IT S ABOUT KNOWING GOD LOVES YOU. - FOSTER DAKIN - When I saw my friends serving in Kingdom Kids, I knew that I wanted to do the same thing. At first, it was a little more work than I expected, but God helped me through it and I realized it s a good thing for me to take on commitment and serve in the church. I like to help people, but I learned it s more than that. Whatever you do, whether you re doing the dishes, singing or dancing, it is all for God. They teach us in Kingdom Kids that it s not just about serving, but it s about knowing that God loves you and He is the right way.

DO LIF E TO GE T H E R GROUPS We believe the best way to know you belong is to get connected in community. In 2017, we launched Affinity Groups to offer new opportunities for family members to get connected beyond lifegroups, as well as a new Young Adult Ministry to accommodate the growing age group in our church. Our heart is that every member of our church family will get connected to a group of people who will help lead them toward a stronger relationship with God and with others. 150 96 ARE IN A COMMUNITY GROUP ARE IN AN AFFINITY GROUP PEOPLE PEOPLE 159 PEOPLE ARE IN A LIFEGROUP

I JUST KNEW THIS IS WHAT I HAD TO DO. - TALITHA RUSSELL - I ve always wanted to go back to school to get my Associate s Degree. So when The Movement launched the Degree Program, I knew it was God opening a door. During the first few classes, I was nervous because I hadn t been in school for a while. As a teacher, I have expectations for my students, but now I have to shift my mindset to being a student, so it s been a good perspective adjustment for me. I have responsibility to the class, to the teacher, and to myself every Tuesday night, so it s been a good challenge and commitment. The classes have helped my studying and walk with God, and have also been a fun place to meet other students who are all working together towards the same goal.

MOVEMENT DEGREE PROGRAM One of our biggest initiatives in 2017 was launching our on-campus discipleship classes. These classes are designed to help you grow in your relationship with God and with others, teaching biblical wisdom in areas such as finances, prophetic gifts, and spiritual wellness. These classes have allowed people in all walks of life to come together and discover the depth of truth and our identity in Christ. We have seen people walk into new giftings and put them into practice as they step into ministry. The Movement Degree Program started in the fall of 2017, offering classes that can help you earn a college-level degree through bible and theological studies. Our School of Ministry (MSM) students are enrolled in these classes as part of their academic requirements. The Principles of Biblical Study and Old Testament Survey were offered in the fall, and four adults in addition to our MSM students committed to the program. At the end of the two-year program, students can earn either an Associate of Arts or Bachelor of Art in Theological Studies. 388 PEOPLE ATTENDED CAMPUS LIFE CLASSES 8 CLASSES WERE OFFERED IN 2017 10 PEOPLE ENROLLED IN THE DEGREE PROGRAM

MOVEMENT SCHOOL OF MINISTRY MSM entered into its second year in 2017. Four students completed the first year of the program, and two of those graduates enrolled in the program for a second year along with four new students. Everyday, the students are engaged in worship, devotionals, teachings, and discipleship from mentors and teachers in our church family. In 2017, our MSM team participated in street evangelism and helped out at San Marcos Elementary School as part of their weekly outreach; traveled to Mexico and Africa on mission trips; and dedicated over 2000 hours to serving our church ministries as interns. We continue to watch these students walk into the fullness of their identity in Christ and step onto the platforms the Lord is calling them to. 4 STUDENTS GRADUATED IN 2017 6 STUDENTS ENROLLED IN 2017-2018 72 PEOPLE MENTOR AND TEACH THE STUDENTS

I M SEEING MY VALUE AND WHO I AM IN MY IDENTITY IN CHRIST. - KRISTEN SHROYER - I moved from Ohio to join the School of Ministry (MSM), so being in a fresh environment allowed me to see love in a different way. There s no expectation to be anbody but yourself, and I have received support from people of all different ages and walks of life at The Movement. When I look back on 2017, I see God chasing violently after me, and I continue to see that same pursuit in the people at our church. I wouldn t be here without the radical love God. MSM has been amazing. I have made the best friends of my life. To have this year carved out for me to sit with God and grow everyday will definitely impact me for the rest of my life.

LOVING AND REACHING OUR COMMUNITY We love our neighbors through serving our local community. In 2017, we continued our outreach to the students and families at San Marcos Elementary School (SME) through our Adopt-A-Child Uniform Program and Angel Tree program during the Christmas season. We provided uniforms, food, and Christmas gifts to 235 children who are living at or below poverty level. Our church family also participated in a workday at San Marcos Elementary where we helped clean and paint their classrooms, building, and school grounds. In 2018, we will continue to love and pour into our local schools and these local families with generosity as we strive to make our communities better. 475 FAMILIES FED IN FOOD DISTRIBUTION 705 UNIFORMS PROVIDED TO SME CHILDREN 74 PEOPLE PARTICIPATED IN SME WORKDAY

INTERNATIONAL MISSIONS The Movement has been supporting and participating in international missions for years. Our Mexico Missions Team has been serving the Mexican border communities with house-builds and food distribution, and ministering to the children at the Door of Faith Orphanage in La Mission, Mexico. Our School of Ministry (MSM) students also visited Iris Global Ministries in Pemba, Mozambique and Johannesburg, South Africa to serve alongside long-term missionaries in hospitals, slums, prisons, and schools. They even faciliated with a new church plant after evangelizing to the chief in an unreached village. In 2018, we expect God to continue moving in His Kindom across international borders and mobilize our church family to step into the global harvest field as we expand our reach into Southern Mexico, Brazil and Cambodia. 28 PEOPLE PARTICIPATED IN MISSION TRIPS $ 7752 GIVEN TO MEXICO MISSIONS $ 4210 GIVEN TO AFRICA MISSIONS

EVERYTIME I COME TO THE MOVEMENT, I FEEL PEACE. - JASON SUAREZ - When I came to church, I was going through multiple addictions and struggling with problems due to my past. But I found family at The Movement. Coming to church has kept me grounded and keeps me walking on the right path. In 2017, I got baptized, started serving in Kid s Ministry, joined a Lifegroup, and have been bringing friends and family to the church. It s amazing what The Movement has done for me and I ve been living a whole new lifestyle. This is where I know that I am loved and I belong.

It is important for us to steward the Kingdom investments of our church family, and we take that responsibility with great honor. In 2017, we were able to pay off $100,000 in debt, and ended the year within 1% of our budget. In addition, we were able to double the amount of resource Movement Church made available for Outreach. Through your financial obedience, more was accomplished this year than any other year in the history of our church! $ 346,692 BUILDING & GROUNDS

GIVE INVEST IN THE KINGDOM HOW YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE SERVE LOVE ONE ANOTHER We are grateful for everything our church family accomplished in 2017 and confident 2018 will be a year of deepened partnerships to make our lives, homes, workplaces, and cities better. We are praying for profound change to happen and God s Kingdom to advance in our midst. We believe this will be a year of activation for you to step up and step out in obedience to God s call on your life. We are committed to seeing generational collaboration, both old and young coming together in response to God s commission to spread the Good News and make disciples of all people. (Acts 2:17-21) We invite you to answer the call to make it better. LEARN GROW IN WISDOM CONNECT STEP INTO COMMUNITY THE MOVEMENT.ORG
