INTRODUCTION Gaya is ne f the thirty-eight administrative districts f Bihar. Gaya was ntified as a district n Octber 3, 1865. Earlier, Gaya was a part f the erstwhile district f Behar and Ramgarh. In 1976, Aurangabad and Nawada were partitined ff frm the territry f Gaya and in 1986 Jehanabad was carved ut. Gaya district is a part f Magadh divisin. Gaya district is bunded by the districts f Jehanabad, Nawada and Aurangabad f Bihar and district Chatra f Jharkhand. The river flwing thrugh Gaya district is Falgu. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND Gaya has ancient mythlgical and histrical significance.
