P a ge 2 T HE STREA M Volume 3, Issue 1 The Greek word translated "double-minded" is dipsuchos, from dis, meaning "twice," and psuche, meaning "mind." James uses it to describe someone who is divided in his interests or loyalties, wavering, uncertain, two-faced, half-hearted. Jam 1:8 A double minded man [is] unstable in all his ways. KJV 1) double minded a) wavering, uncertain, doubting b) divided in interest Strong's Number 1374 matches the Greek dipsuchos 1) unstable, inconstant, restless from 1 (as a negative particle) and a derivative of 2525 Strong's Number 182 matches the Greek akatastatos 1) ALL a) each, every, any, all, the whole, everyone, all things, everything Strong's Number 3956 matches the Greek pas including all the forms of declension. de clen sion n. 1. A descending slope; a descent. 2. A decline or decrease; deterioration: States and empires have their periods of declension (Laurence Sterne). 3. A deviation, as from a standard or practice. dec li na tion n. 1. A sloping or bending downward. 2. A falling off, especially from prosperity or vigor; a decline. 3. A deviation, as from a specific direction or standard. 4. A refusal to accept. 5. Magnetic declination. declination n 1: a condition inferior to an earlier condition; a gradual falling off from a better state [syn: decline] [ant: improvement] 2: (astronomy) the angular

T HE STREA M Volume 3, Issue 1 P a ge 3 distance to a point on a celestial object measured north or south from the celestial equator; expressed in degrees; used with right ascension to specify positions on the celestial sphere [syn: celestial latitude, DEC] 3: a downward slope or bend [syn: descent, declivity, fall, decline, declension, downslope] [ant: ascent] 4: a polite refusal of an invitation [syn: regrets] ) ways 1) properly a) a way 1) a travelled way, road b) a travellers way, journey, travelling 2) metaph. a) a course of conduct b) a way (i.e. manner) of thinking, feeling, deciding Strong's Number 3598 matches the Greek hodos Being double minded will cause you to lose ground. Jam 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse [your] hands, [ye] sinners; and purify [your] hearts, [ye] double minded. * So as you can see being double minded will cause you to lose ground. It will cause you to deviate from your God given course. Read: Scripture References James 4:8 1Ki 18:21 And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD [be] God, follow him: but if Baal, [then] follow him. And the people answered him not a word. 2Ki 17:33 They feared the LORD, and served their own gods, after the manner of the nations whom they carried away from thence. Isa 29:13 Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near [me] with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the

P a ge 4 T HE STREA M Volume 3, Issue 1 precept of men: Hsa 7:10 And the pride of Israel testifieth to his face: and they do not return to the LORD their God, nor seek him for all this. * Pride will cause you to be double-minded. Mat 6:22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. Mat 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. *God will destroy anything you worship other than Him. If you spend your energy only to climb the social latter and to obtain material things, then God will destroy that which you put above Him. It is OK to have things, as long as you don t allow them to replace God or steal time that should be spent doing the things God has planned for you to do in your life. He has a purpose for you. Take time to find it. It will be the best thing you ever did!! ** If you can t find the time to: Worship, listen to Christian Praise music, read your Bible, study the Bible, spend time perfecting the gifts and talents God has given to you (and use them to lift up His name) share your beliefs and convictions with others, teach your children Godly principles, discipline your children and set Godly standards by example, pay your tithes, pray for someone who is in trouble, visit the sick, help those in need, forgive those who have hurt you, repent for being a hypocrite, (being double-minded), obey His commandments, acknowledge Godly principles, and live a Holy (not religious) life, then God will get your attention and convict you of your sins. If you refuse to acknowledge God and repent, you will reap what YOU have sowed. This is a principle and law that is always at work in our lives. It would be good for you to sow good seed, that you might reap good things. Amen.

T HE STREA M Volume 3, Issue 1 P a ge 5 * Don t just sit there and feel you can t change things. Stand up and lift up a Godly standard and live a good life! * Don t feel condemned, even godly men in the Bible found themselves engulfed in double-mindedness. John the Baptist was human, and he was full of doubt when God seemed not to respond to his prayers during a crisis. Biased Fellowship In essence, a double-minded person lacks conviction in their beliefs. They will often change loyalties, priorities and/or ideas, depending on who they are with. They have not come to the place in their walk with God to deal with their half-hearted commitment to God or even Christianity in the basic sense. The double-minded person has never settled in their heart to walk in integrity no matter what the cost. In essence they are not willing to pay the cost to follow Christ in the fullness of a Christian walk. They are quick to sell out, remain silent, hide from view, etc. when the heat is turned up on issues that could cost them their positions in society. The double minded person is actually dishonest with themselves and others, and appears to use truth and lies in whatever situation to benefit themselves in some way. The person is filled with hypocrisy. * When you are in the presence of Christians and the setting of holy fellowship, is your conversation with others holy? a. Is your life a testimony of what you hear and believe about God and His Kingdom, or do you limit your conversation about God. Do you smother out your Godly convictions in order to be accepted by other people, or fear of their opinion (judgment) about your faith? If you are ashamed of Christ, then He will also be ashamed of you. * Are you taking the advice from so-called non-christians, just to sus-

P a ge 6 T HE STREA M Volume 3, Issue 1 tain your imagined friendship? Ironically you often listen to their ungodly advice and again find yourself being double minded! * Wisdom that is not from God is evil and will always lead you to destruction. James 3:15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. James 3:12-17 12"Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh. 13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him show out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. 14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. 15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. 16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. 17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy." Dangerous Thoughts That Lead To Destruction 1. I am a Christian, but I don t have to be spiritual. It may cause people to think less of me. 2. If I talk about God it could be bad for business, so I just keep God to myself. 3. I know I am supposed to walk as a Christian, (because I am one) but I am afraid to speak about the Holy Spirit around my friends. 4. I will just hang out with my friends and sort of go along with them.

T HE STREA M Volume 3, Issue 1 P a ge 7 They may think I am too religious or judgmental, if I share my convictions with them. 5. Someday I will do the right thing and serve God like I know I should. 6. I will do the right thing when things get better. I don t want to rock the boat and cause things to get worse. 7. I will pray to God secretly and never expose my convictions to people around me. God s Divine Favor - Prayer 1. I walk in Divine Favor. 2. I find Favor with God and man. 3. I will receive all of the blessings God has for me today, today! 4. No demon in Hell, and no man on Earth, shall hinder me from receiving God s Blessings, and Favor, today! 5. I bind up the spirit of Greed, and loose the spirit of Giving in its place! 6. I bind up the spirit of Fear, and loose the spirit of Faith in its place! 7. I bind up the spirit of Lack, and loose the spirit of EL SHADDAI in its place! 8. My trust is in God, for He is my source and my strength! Amen. I believe and declare this every day. I encourage you to declare this, in Heaven and in Earth! Believe when you pray, and receive all God has for you today! His mercies are new every morning, Just ask Him! You are blessed.

P a ge 8 T HE STREA M Volume 3, Issue 1 From The Father s Heart The Sound Of Many Waters KJV Rev 1:15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. (emphasis mine) Listen to His voice and let the sound of many waters refresh you today. He is constantly speaking in Heaven and in the earth. Let Him flow through you today. He will use you to refresh a thirty soul. Someone in your path today is in need of the Master s voice. Let Him Flow today! Give someone a cool drink of His Mercy and Love, today. Go ahead, make His day! He is ever mindful of your needs and He will use you to lift someone up out of confusion and despair, if you will only allow Him to FLOW in and through your life. Amen! A NOTE FROM THE PUBLISHER: This Newsletter was birthed to water thirsty souls with the Word of God. The name in itself, THE STREAM is an indicator of God s intent with this ministry. Water flows in the path of least resistance. To resist Him is to restrict His flowing river. The river of God brings refreshing hope when you allow it to flow in your life. Open up your heart and receive refreshing water, in those dry areas of your life. We all have them at times, so don t feel condemned. (smile) Open up your heart, and let Him complete the good work, He has started in you. Amen! In His Rest, Water flows in the path of least resistance.

T HE STREA M Volume 3, Issue 1 P a ge 9 Laugh Out Loud Q: How do we know that Job went to a chiropractor? A. Job 16:12 I was at peace, and he shook me apart. Yes, he grabbed me by the neck and dashed me to pieces. Q: Who was the greatest financier in the Bible? A: Noah. He was floating his stock while everyone else was in liquidation. Q: Who was the greatest female financier in the Bible? A: Pharaoh's daughter. She went down to the bank of the Nile and drew out a little prophet. Two Huts The Coastguard was patrolling an uninhabited Island one day when they spotted a man on the beach. They pulled their boat over to the beach where the man was standing and noticed two huts further back on the Island. They asked the man if someone else was with him on the Island and he replied, no I am here alone on this Island. The Coastguard asked the man, why is there two huts built on the Island? He replied, Oh, that hut over there is where I go to church, and the other hut is where I used to go to church. Ha! Sounds silly doesn t it, but God sees this everyday in the earth. The man was alone and still had a church split! Food For Thought. Hum Proverbs 17:22 22 A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones.
