Open Position: Assistant Rector for Congregational Engagement Background: Church of the Incarnation is a resource size parish located just north of downtown Dallas committed to worshipping God in the Great Tradition of the Church, growing in faith, serving the poor, and developing leaders for the renewal of the church locally and around the world. Incarnation s worship life consists of 7 Sunday services (4 traditional, 3 contemporary), 6 weekday communion services, and daily morning & evening prayer as well as holiday services (parish average Sunday attendance for 2017: 1363). This priest will be responsible for increasing participation in all parish ministries, especially focused on Sunday worship. Job Description: The Assistant Rector for Congregational Engagement is a new position at Incarnation, and as such, an ideal candidate will be a self-starter with experience growing ministry participation in a large parish (or other large ministry) setting. Initially, this priest will be responsible for: Pastoral leadership and vision for various task forces (current task forces listed, further ones will be created): o Young Families in Traditional Worship o Young Adults in Traditional Worship Pastoral leadership and creative vision for major parish events including Rally Day (fall kick off), Theology Live (annual June theology in a bar series), Blessing of the Animals, Lessons & Carols, July 4 th Parade participation, etc. Consistent relationship and leadership development in Traditional worship congregation including serving as the primary clergy contact for some Community Life Groups Additionally, this priest will have a shared portion of the parish s pastoral care duties (currently including one rotation on call approximately every four weeks), leading weddings and funerals as assigned, leading weekday worship, participating in Sunday worship services, preaching as requested, and contributing to overall clergy leadership of the parish. Incarnation is excited to be expanding our reach hopefully through the establishment of a satellite campus in Dallas or nearby suburbs. Planning and fundraising have been underway since early 2017, a site has been selected, the goal has been announced to the parish, and we hope to have a formal public launch during 2018. Job Description: The Assistant Rector for the New Satellite Campus (title will be adjusted when campus name is determined) will be responsible for the successful establishment of growth of a permanent satellite campus of the Church of the Incarnation. This campus will model the contemporary worship style of the parish s 3 Uptown contemporary worship services. This priest would be responsible for: Serving as the primary preacher for the satellite campus Recruiting and developing leaders for the continued growth of the satellite campus Establishing ongoing, permanent avenues for relationship between the satellite and main campus Executing, and amending where necessary, the satellite campus planting plan Supervising staff specific to the satellite campus Additionally, this priest will have a shared portion of the parish s on-call after hours pastoral care duties (currently including one rotation on call approximately every four weeks), leading weddings and funerals as assigned, leading weekday worship, and contributing to overall clergy leadership of the parish.
