Q&A with GIDEON GIDEON answers questions about his life, experiences, and good memories Which words describe your personality? Loyal, happy, respectful, thoughtful, sympathetic, calm and reflective. Describe your strong sides: I have high self-respect and self-esteem. My view on life is optimistic, and I love to focus on the small successes in life. I am independent and yet I enjoy supporting a better community. I am a very thoughtful and diplomatic person. I help and support the weak, and I am a part of making the earth a better place to live. Do you ride a bicycle? All the time. How much alcohol do you drink on average per week? 2-3 beers. Which countries have you visited: Norway, The Netherlands, England, France, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Czech-Republic, USA, Thailand and Australia. Describe your weak sides: I can be indecisive at times when the choices appear equally good. I become reluctant when I am fully convinced of my own point of view. I become modest and don t care about expressing my own opinion at times when I feel drowsy. What is your marital status? Girlfriend. Do you have any children? No. Which types of sport do you play or have played? Currently, I do windsurfing, climbing, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, mountain biking, golfing and playing pool. I used to play soccer, badminton, beach volley and do jujitsu. Which other types of sports are you interested in? Snowboarding, skiing, river rafting and BMX. List any other hobbies you may have or have had: I enjoy hiking in nature, taking my girlfriend out to spontaneous events, travelling and in general taking on new challenges. List which musical instruments you play or have played: None. Religion: None. How many hours of sleep do you get on an average night? 8. Do you eat healthy? Always. Do you smoke? No. Describe the best holiday you have had: My best holiday was when I was 21 years old and my friend and I traveled to Thailand and Australia as backpackers. We lived and traveled low budget and blended in with the locals and other backpackers from Europe. We met some great people and tried some amazing things. Anything from the most downhill mountain bike route to skydiving from 4,2 km. My friend and I were really adventure seeking, and we were seeking adventures away from the main road where all the other tourists were. For example, in Daintree rainforest in Northwestern Australia we went out in the middle of the night to experience the wild life in pitch black darkness. Or when we took a trip to the outback Australia to experience the Chillagoe caves on our own and ended up staying in hammocks overnight in the middle of nowhere. Amazing trip with amazing experiences. What do you like the most about your own country: I like the way our Danish society is built, the way we treat and take care of those who are in need. The fact that we offer free healthcare and education is a great thing. I am also pleased that Denmark is one of the main nations investing in renewable energy, working towards a more sustainable planet.

Q&A with GIDEON - continued GIDEON s dreams, favourites and experiences Who are your idols/heroes/heroines? Dalai Lama has an amazing approach to self-recognition. His simple needs in life compared to his level of happiness is inspiring. Nelson Mandela remains my idol. His effort to end apartheid in South Africa was a milestone for equality and more love among all humans. What are your goals in life? My number one goal is to live the happiest life possible, but it is important to understand that my goal in life is the process life itself not some final destination. Living by my main goal includes many different things and they adjust as I grow up. It includes anything from developing as a caring and considerate human being, to taking on new challenges in life and reflecting on my actions and identity. What were your childhood dreams: I ve always loved looking towards the universe. As a child my dream was to become an astronomer. Later on that developed into dreaming about becoming a cosmologist or philosopher. Today my dreams are a lot more down to earth :-) collectors standing side by side staring at me with the weirdest look on their faces. Later that day I got checked for a concussion, but luckily I was alright. It was however the most scary, surreal and claustrophobic experience of my life. Proudest: Winning my first club championship in my local windsurfing club. Most dangerous: One day I was windsurfing in really strong wind near my hometown. I had just learned how to make a front loop a couple of weeks before on Rhodes. When I attempted to pull one off in these really strong conditions, I didn t fully commit and ended crashing really hard in shallow water. Greatest sorrow: When my family and I were on a camping holiday in Spain and my mother had a horrible crash on a rented bike because the brakes failed. I felt really sad back then but today she s all fine. What is your favourite colour? Green - The dominant colour in our beautiful nature. Which values do you rank the highest? Joy, love, happiness, honesty, adventure-seeking, reflective thinking, spontaneity. Which childhood experience made the biggest impression on you? One of the greatest experiences I remember from my child hood was back when I was 9 years old. My mom, my dad, my sister and myself were on vacation in the US travelling around in California. We drove to the Redwoods which have some of the greatest most ancient trees on our planet. I remember how amazed I was by the size of those trees and how I felt like I had stepped onto another planet. Which was your greatest experience or moment? When I windsurfed around a big island in Denmark. It took 9 hours and I sailed 177 km on my own. Happiest: Meeting my girlfriend and experiencing our relationship evolving <3 Funniest: Today a guy from my school sat down to eat his lunch and the metal chair broke underneath him : D Scariest: Summer 2015 my friends and I went on a road-trip to Southern Europe. We had been driving all night in France and decided to get some sleep. My friends slept in the car while I put up my tent in the middle of a suburban area. Early in the morning I dreamed I was being run over by a truck. So I rushed up in my sleep and the tent fell down from the plateau onto the sidewalk. Desperately I was trying to get out my tent but couldn t. Eventually I made it out just to see three garbage What is your favourite animal? Koala bear - The koalas appear as the most relaxed animals along with sloths and turtles. What is your favourite kind of food? My girlfriends cooking! She cooks the most amazing healthy vegetarian meals inspired by many different kitchens. What is your favourite kind of music? Dizzy Wright is my favorite artist. Relaxed hip hop.
