God s purpose for Glenwood Lutheran Church is that we accept all people, share the Good News, and help those in need. The monthly newsletter of Glenwood Lutheran Church May 2017 PASTOR HANLEY ORDAINED Pastor Chris with his brothers, mother, and sister at his ordination. Christopher Hanley was ordained by Bishop Daniel Beaudoin on April 2, 2017 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Northbrook, Illinois. Pastor Chris begins as Glenwood s pastor on May 15. GLENWOOD S NEW WEBPAGE Have you visited Glenwood s website recently? It has a fresh, new look and format thanks to Sarah Gulch. Thank you, Sarah, for all your work! Check it out! www.glenwoodlc.net May 7: May 14: May 21: MAY WORSHIP SERVICES Pastor Cathy Schibler Mothers Day, a special focus on four women prominent in Jesus life. Pastor Chris will lead his first service with us.

Hearts filled with joy! Endings, beginnings! Sing to the Lord a new song! Hope spun in love! Gift of the Spirit! Sing to the Lord a new song! God has done marvelous things. I too will praise God with a new song! Ralph F. Smith This is indeed a time of endings and beginnings. With the ending of my time here, comes your beginning with Pastor Chris Hanley. May this be a time of learning and growth. For me, also, with this ending comes a beginning. On Sunday, April 23, the people of God at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Upper Sandusky voted to call me as their next pastor. I will begin there June 1. (We anticipate my installation there will be Thursday, June 8). It has been gift and blessing to serve with you these past 20 months as your interim pastor. Thank you for our time together and the way you have made both Jim and me welcome in the life of the congregation. God bless you in this time of beginning! Peace, Pastor Kathy Kathleen Shuck and Jim Kluding 208 Strecker Road Milan, Ohio 44846 intpk@aol.com LOOKING AHEAD TO THE OLD WEST END FESTIVAL The Festival is June 3 & 4. The neighborhood will be decked out in its finest with the parade, art show, yard sales, children s activities, food vendors, and more. Plans are underway for Glenwood s participation. On Saturday, we will again march in the parade and have the Fill-a-Bag event. Volunteers are encouraged to let Barbara Morgan know when they can help sort clothing. This year (we learned the hard way last June) the tables will be set up in Jones Hall so inclement weather won t be an issue. Mark your calendar! More details in next month s newsletter.
