October was another busy month for our River of Life ministry teams. We were blessed to be able to build 3 more ramps this month and added some new volunteers. On October 10th, we partnered with the Lutheran church to build a ramp at Laurel wood Dr. near Alexander High School. We had a total of 12 volunteers and Tom O Dwyer joined us for his first ROL mission. Kelly Roberts baked us cookies and brownies to keep us snacking and they were greatly appreciated. We did another 14 foot ramp on October 17th in Temple with the help of Tom O Dwyer, Jimmy Rubino, Ken Porter, and Jacob Holloway, along with Mike Eastman from New Covenant. Also, a ramp was built at the home of a Vietnam Veteran who lived in Albany GA by Pastor Mike Dunbar through their New Covenant UMC ROL fund. God blessed us with 3 pallets of lumber for future ramps at a reduced price from Lowes. The material receipt showed $983 of material and they let us purchase it for $244. Last but not least, I want to thank all of Bright star for their continued interest in Missions and for everything you do at Bright Star.
