NEWSLESTER To Be Disciples To Make Disciples Lester Memorial United Methodist Church (205) 625-5681 Visit us @ www.lester-memorial.org Prayer/Care Line (205) 625-5600 As most of you (perhaps all of you) know we are well into the construction phase of our new facilities. The foundation is finished, the pad is poured and the structural steel will be going up soon. Demolition at the front of the for the construction of the elevator will begin shortly after. So far things have gone according to plans. We believe this will continue. All of you have cooperated wonderfully with the inconveniences of parking and limited Church Office and Day Care access. Just a warning, there will be additional inconveniences down the road as we progress with the construction. Thank you so much for your understanding. It is exciting to see the actual building process after years of planning and preparation. I hope that all of you had a blessed Thanksgiving. For many of us it was different because there was one less family member present than last year. I can never think about Thanksgiving without remembering a phone call my dad got every year on Thanksgiving Day. Every year for 43 years the same minister called and thanked my dad for leading him to the Lord. This man s life changed because he turned to Christ. His marriage was saved and he embarked on a journey of pastoral ministry until his retirement a few years ago. That helps me put Thanksgiving into perspective. I am grateful for many things, my family, our church family at LMUMC, the opportunity to serve God, but mostly I am thankful that God sent Jesus into the world to save sinners like me. The greatest day in my life was when I came to know Jesus. That changed everything for me. I hope that Thanksgiving Day brought you to gratefulness for the coming of Jesus into your life. If not it may be time to seriously consider why not? Remember, GOD LOVES YOU! And, so do I.
