We will be having an EASTER BBQ Chicken, Ribs and Sausage drive thru, on Sunday, April 16. Please call the hall to reserve your BBQ for your Easter meal. Thanks again. The Msgr. Harry and KofC Memorial Golf Tournament held on March 17th was another GREAT SUCCESS. We were able to raise over 24,000 dollars for scholarships for our youth. A special thanks to our golf chairmen Rusty Freedman, Arlin Keilers, Stuart Naumann, Jared Surman, Pat Kalina, Jody Supak, and Jim Kothman who helped get sponsors and organize the tournament. Thank you to all that helped at the tournament and at the hall setting up and frying fish for the meal. THANK YOU, also to all that were sponsors for the tournament, gave door prizes, and the teams that played; without your contributions to this event, it would not have been such a great success. And thank GOD for the beautiful weather we had for the event. In closing I want to wish you and your families a Blessed Easter season. May God Bless you and keep you! Page 2 KNIGHTLY NEWS APRIL 2017 CHAPLAIN S CORNER The month of April again fills our hearts with the joy of celebrating Easter. After the Lenten season (a time of penance and conversion) and after the moving celebrations of the Holy Triduum, we stand before Jesus empty tomb and meditate with wonder and gratitude on the Resurrection of the Lord. Life has conquered death. Mercy and love have conquered sin! The Lord is risen and is in our midst. This truth marked the lives of the apostles as they moved to the future. Having received the Holy Spirit, they set out fearlessly to proclaim to all what they had seen with their own eyes and personally experienced. Christ s resurrection then is not merely an event of the past. It contains a vital power which permeates this world. Where all seems to be dead, signs of the resurrection suddenly spring up. In the midst of darkness something new always springs to life and sooner or later produces fruit. Like the apostles, we need faith and hope in order to open ourselves to this new and marvelous horizon. We know that faith and hope are gifts from God, but we need to ask for them: Lord, grant me faith, grant me hope! With these gifts, we can then proclaim Christ s resurrection to others during dark moments of life. We can share that with others when we know how to smile with those who smile and weep with those who weep; when we walk beside those who are sad and in danger of losing hope; when we recount our experience of faith with those searching for meaning and happiness. With our attitude, with our life, we too proclaim: Jesus is Risen! Let us all share in this Easter Joy! Sincerely in Christ, Father Dan Kahlich, Co-Chaplain PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, COME OUT AND HELP WITH BIKE-A-THON, PLEASE, PLEASE, We Need Your Help.
